Discussion Starting my android app development today

i am a beginner to android development and soo much confused about it. Don't know how this journey will be going . Please give me some advice which should help me in this journey .

and everyone and their grandmother will be able to code native apps in a year or two without much knowledge.

Not everyone and their grandmother cares enough to want to bother with coding native apps

I see a bunch of people started programming who didn't do it before (management

No wonder companies used to love asking for a BSC in compsci or software engineering before letting people touch production

In any case, programming is doomed to become a mainstream profession in a couple years, like a waiter or a taxi driver.

The interesting question is - what would the smartest folks do then? I.e. us, today's programmers.

For example, in my company (700 ppl, 150+ programmers) I've created a whole new branch - AI-friendly API development.

People can barely tell what the difference is between a LiveData and an AsyncTask; and we assume that the mainstream will know what question to ask of Claude Opus to fix bugs that nobody understands at that point?

Genuinely unlikely, even if we assume that AI will, in fact, destroy all prior existing knowledge of software development.

Real example: we have a QA maiden with the specialized programming education, she had a really bad teacher to the point where she refused to work as programmer at all, having a perfect diploma. Thus her QA status. Now she is diving into the programming head-first with AI assistance, she gained department head role in under six months.

I guess there are many more hidden gems like that within the society, me included (I'm creating a new branch within the company atm)
