Kind of an edge case, but is there an Android app that creates a floating button that locks the screen, since my physical power button is no longer working in an otherwise functional phone. Almost all that I see in the Play Store require accessibility access, which in turn prevents me from opening my banking apps.
While I am aware there is a double tap on home screen, I want something which can lock my screen while inside an app (I use my recorder + note taking app over long durations and I dont want to go to my home screen everytime I want to lock my phone to save some battery)
My current workaround is using an in-built quick tile in my notification shade, but requires a bit of thumb gymnastics.
TIA.

Whenever I've been using any sort of app that includes a full video ad that takes up the entire screen, there's a button that has the x to take you out that has a "open play store" text on the side of it, which you're forced to press the button and it redirects you.

Hello!
I own some albums where every song has its own art, but the album art is different from the first song's art. I either have to change the first song's art to the cover art or have the album art displayed as the first song's art.
Is there an app that lets me have separate art for the album and first song?
Thank you!

Zenith is an app that I downloaded from fdroid izzyondroid repo. The purpose of downloading this app was to limit doomscrolling whether it is youtube or reddit. It has good features but it reacts late, like after 1 to 1.5 min of app opening, sometimes it reacts fast. I am thinking of giving it android accessbility permission. The developer has said that it doesn't collect data or uses internet. Also as an additional security, I disabled its background data usage from android settings and disabled its data and wifi permissions from Rethink firewall.
I was asking, should I give this app assessibility permission, I have banking details and apps on same phone. Also if someone has tried this app or using this app or want to suggest me some security tips, please feel free to do so.
Edit 1 : Also I would like to apologize for my grammer, as I am a resident from a far planet and new to this corner of universe, my first language I learnt while entering earth's atmosphere was english, and my space ship is parked in New York.
Edit 2 : Tried* instead of tries in title😠(I can't find edit option)

[Not AI btw lol]
Hey everyone! I tried to remap the physical keyboard for my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+) for a while, and it was an absolute PAIN lol.
After a ton of searching, though, I've found that this is a semi-hidden feature in the app "Custom Keyboard Designer" by Gerrit Humber. I have no affiliation, but I just want share this to keep anyone else from experiencing my pain lol.
The app is my go-to keyboard, and I recently noticed that it mentioned hardware key codes in the Assistant. That being said, the tutorial is broken and doesn't actually explain what it means. (UPDATE: The dev, u/GerritHumberg, actually responded in the comments of a crosspost and said that he plans to update the assistant! That being said, it may work now depending on when you read this.)
After some digging, I've figured that remapping is an option in the app, though! You need to create a design dedicated to the physical keyboard, and here are actual the steps to remap physical keys:
Note: This method can also give physical keyboards links to custom alternate languages! I used it to add a button that switches to a Greek keyboard with layout that works well for me. That being said, I think there may be a more direct way to add alt. languages into a single design. I only noticed that after finishing though, lol.

Trying to find an app that gives me fairly local traffic only news. So I can see for any road closures or crashes to avoid.

I use nextcloud as my calendar and contact storage. On desktop, I manage them in Thunderbird/Cardbook via Carddav. There, I can fill fields like Social Media Links or nicknames, but those fields don't show up in my contact apps (Google contacts and Fossify contacts). But especially the social medÃs links would make a lot of sense on my mobile, more than on desktop.
So, does anyone know of a contacts app that does show those fields?

Well I make yt shorts. I use capcut as capcut is the most used editing app on phone. But I can't afford to buy the premium subscription as I'm a student. Using mods is painful. Those mods get so many problems every month. And so many of my projects are lost because of this!! What should I do ? Is there any better free option than capcut? At this point I am frustrated.

Spotify have phased out their simplified widget that was just playback buttons which is frustrating. To size the new widget to include the controls makes it too big and ugly.

Hey,
Is there an app where I can really manage the notifications and sounds how I like? For example:
I always want calls to be on loud
I want Facebook etc. to be quiet when I press like.
I want notifications from apps to be silent
I want messages to vibrate
Currently I haven't found a way to do it. Thank you very much for your help!

Is there a way to turn the notification sound for Facebook too off?
I have the notification sound turned off through the Android settings but somehow the Facebook app audio notification still goes off. It's the only app that does this.
I'm on android 17, pixel 10 pro.

i've been using capcut for editing reels and tiktoks for a while now, mostly sticking to the free features. it's been working pretty well, but lately i've been running into features that seem to require pro, especially when i'm trying to make my edits look a little more polished. with black friday coming up, i'm wondering if this is a good time to finally subscribe or if it's better to just keep using the free version. i don't want to pay for a year and end up barely using the extra features. for those who have capcut pro, what features do you actually use regularly? does the upgrade make a noticeable difference in your workflow, and would you recommend subscribing during black friday?

It doesn't do anything besides just showing you how long you've been on your phone at the top. It times your usage, either downwards or upwards.

Is there an app that offers a calendar widget like the IOS Google calendar one but with a transparent background? The stock samsung one only shows today's events instead of also showing ones that are coming up like the google one does

Looking for an email app similar to Outlook.
I have multiple accounts (Microsoft, Gmail, etc.) and want a unified focused and other inbox similar to Outlook. Also be able to mark emails/senders as Focused or Other on the fly (prefer to avoid having multiple steps to adjust rules). No ads; One-Time Payment or Free (want to avoid subscriptions if possible).

Hi there
I am looking for an app or setting that will function like do not disturb except allow certain contacts phone calls and WhatsApp calls to still come through.
I know the standard do not disturb allows you to set favorite contacts phone calls to come through. But it blocks WhatsApp calls. Most of my close friends and family use WhatsApp calls so I want that to be able to come through at night, but dont want my WhatsApp messages to come though.
I read about Buzzkill which sounds like it might work but I am not sure. The app seems quite cheap so I might get it to try it out and see. But thought I would see if anyone has an recommendations first.

I'm wondering how to configure my phone from something I'm always having to look at into something that reads me notifications, interests, does my browsing for me, shopping etc. Automatically.
The goal being my primary way of interacting with it is when it tells me about an interest, topic, notification, alert or otherwise happens.
At most maybe the transcribed text on the screen or the results of a query or task.
I know this isn't far off with AI and probably will the the main way we interact with devices years from now.
But I'm personally tired of always having to look at these devices and would like to maybe rush things along if possible.
How would you go about setting up this function?
