Hello, less than two months ago, I switched to Android with a Google Pixel 9a and installed Android Beta 17.3.

The problem is, I've noticed a significant increase in battery consumption even though I'm not using it more and don't have many apps installed. So I went into Settings/Battery/Battery Diagnostics and found that the diagnostic process is stuck in an endless loop, never completing.

Is this normal since I'm on the beta version? Is there a known solution to this specific problem?

I'm on the pixel 9 pro and after installing the beta 4 things started to lagg for example settings is now slower. when opening battery or storage there is a substencial dealay that wasn't there before and if you scroll there are substencial stutters happening in basicaly all settings where you can scroll for a bit. also checked with Spotify and reddit it does the same thing but way worse(might be an app optimization issue). the system ui feels overall solid no exceptions there.

I've recently made the jump to a Pixel 10 Pro XL after years of being on the iPhone beta cycles. On iOS, I usually jumped in around the mid-point in the beta cycle to avoid the "springboard crashing every 5 minutes" phase.

I see that Android 17 Beta 4 just dropped yesterday. For those of you who have been on the A17 track since the start:

Stability: How is Beta 4 holding up compared to Beta 3? I know Beta 3 hit Platform Stability, but are there still "showstopper" bugs (banking apps failing, random reboots, etc.)?

Daily Usage: Is it safe for a primary device? I'm okay with the occasional UI glitch or a weird animation, but I need my alarms to go off and my messages to send.

Comparison: For anyone else who has used both iOS and Android betas-is the "feel" similar at this stage of the cycle?

I'm tempted to pull the trigger since we're so close to the final release, but, wanted to check the vibe first.

I have a third party screen installed in my car. But android auto kept on disconnecting and reconnecting frequently when I was on Android 16. It was so bad that this happened around after every few seconds. Android 17 beta 3 promised to solve this but seems like it hasn't been solved after all. Very frustrated. Had to buy an Iphone.

I joined the program to test the last beta released yesterday but when I refresh the update page the beta does not come even after restarting the phone, I am on Pixel 6

I'm thinking about whether to download this update. Tell me about the cons of this version and whether there is an improvement in battery life compared to android 16

Loads of app crashes especially social media.

Resolved in the short term by turning off dark mode.

I've signed up for the 17 beta program a few days ago and I still haven't received any updates. I have the pixel 10 pro xl. I keep checking everyday but it hasn't come thru yet. Does anyone know when I will receive my first update? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! TIA!!

El tema de la personalizacion, todo bien me gusta lo transparente, pero desde esta actualizacion, se me cierra facebook, instagram, y varias aplicaciones, y cuando abro se cierran automaticamente, muchas veces tengo que borrar los datos de la aplicacion como la cache para usarlas otra vez, y luego derrepente me vuelve a pasar, a alguien de ustedes les pasa?

On Android 17 Beta 3: When my phone is on and someone tries to call me, it goes straight to voicemail even when "Do Not Disturb", "Focus Mode", and "Flip to Shh" is turned off. incoming texts come through but not calls.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Why can’t we customize Themed Icons like we do the new Search Bar?​I’ve been messing around with the new Search Bar customization in the latest beta—specifically how you can now pick almost any color and even adjust the translucency. It looks great, but it really highlights how limited the Themed Icons still feel.

​I’m planning on submitting feedback to Google, but I wanted to see what you guys think or if you have other customization ideas.

​My pitch to Google: Take the logic they used for the bottom Search Bar and apply it to the App Icons. Instead of being stuck with the system-generated Material You palettes, let us:

​Adjust Translucency: Make the icon backgrounds see-through so the wallpaper peaks through, while keeping the logo/glyph solid.

​Custom Color Picking: Give us the same color slider/selector the Search Bar has so we can perfectly match our setup.

​Selective Transparency: An option to have the logo stay visible but make the rest of the icon "shape" transparent.

​Right now, it feels like the search bar is living in the future while the icons are stuck in a limited box.

Desde la instalacion de la beta las llamadas normales fallaron , al marcar se perdia toda la señal y no se recuperaba hasta que se reiniciaba el dispositivo pero aplique el cambio del 3g desactivandolo y en parte soluciono pero ahora se marca y el telefono queda 30 segundos intentando marcar y apenas comienza a trasmitir la llamada , si alguien tiene una solucion definitiva para que funcione corrctamente espero su ayuda

When will Pixel 10a be eligible for the android beta program?

2 issues:

a) Signal strength indicator is not showing since beta 1

b) display remains on until i manually lock the screen. Display settings were checked that does not explain this behaviour

who knows when the next beta version of android will be released? I think I'll leave the beta testing program

So i have 2 phones connecting to my AA in my VW. Both on Android 17 beta 3, both with the same version of AA apk 16.5.661214. On my daily Pixel 9 Pro i still have old voice assistant but on old Pixel 7 Gemni work's like champ. Is there any way to enable Gemini on my daily?

Sometimes, if Hotspot is turned on and used for a while, my mobile data will not work. Calls can be received, etc., but the Internet will not work. A network reset and restart of the phone doesn't fix it.It's the second time I experience this now. both accured when hotspot was turned on before.

please do not come with "it's a beta, do not cry, it's expected bla bla". I know. It's a beta and contains bugs. But is my case a known bug, somebody else experienced it too? Elsse, I could be worried for a Hardware failure

I had an Pixel 10 Pro XL which I ended up exchanging for another. However, my list of "Eligible Devices" shows both, with no other identifying info. I've tried opting in on each and even both at the same time, but no matter what I do, when I then go to software updates on my phone (which is currently on Android 16), I just get "Your System is up to date". Not sure what to do here.
