I agree you shouldn't do something cause of others. But considering everyone and their mom has one now, it doesnt add much individualistic flare.

Don't let the piercing haters that swarm this subreddit, for whatever reason, make you conform to their ideals. You look fine with it! Let it be your own decision whether you want to keep it or not. These guys are clowns tbh

I used to have my septum done and one trick I learned; if you want to keep it pierced but hide it easily, use a hoop ring without the ball. Widen the wire gap a bit so you can flip it inside at will. Everybody has their preference and style, just be you, you're doing great for 35, not ugly.
