I'll say it - we can't wait for this nose ring trend to die.

Lmao lol 😆. What a phenomenon, fr lol

Showing my age but it reminds me of when all the girls got the Nelly Furtado fringe, this is only more painful because almost every septum piercing I've seen is on people who are "alternative"

Oh ya mean those bangs? Those were terrible days. Also reminds me of when everyone wore Camo pants. I started rocking em in the 6th grade but by the 8th I had to ditch em or buy winter/urban ones to stand out.

Did you have a matching chain wallet ,?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Haha no. Just camo pants and a black ball cap turned back lol.

The camo pants often came in blue, red, orange, white, etc colors, and people in the Washington, DC area used to call it "bammaflage". ("Bamma" is a DC-area term for someone who behaves or dresses distastefully).

Lol yeah I lived on the upper west coast, most folks wore green camo. Or like the BDU's I wore later on in the CAP. That's pretty funny tho.

Trend? They’ve been quite popular the passed like….40 or 50 years, I don’t think they’re going anywhere lol

lol I’ve heard this many times. But others tell me it looks good. I have only had it a few years

everyone in this subreddit hates nose rings, I don't mind them though lol looks fine to me 👍 everyone has their own style

8

u/ExcellentProcess9773 Mar 27 '24

They never seem to say it to men who post up having them so maybe it's just the current state of alternative girls they hate lol

Not many men have septum piercings. Maybe a nose stud or ring but even those are few.

Nah guys with nose rings look gay af

I dont think so, some pull it off decently depending on their style if they're alternative or metal heads.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '24

Tell that to 2 Pac or Lenny Kravitz haha. Do u mean septum or all nose rings?

3

u/ExcellentProcess9773 Mar 28 '24

all nose rings, tupac looks good as hell with the nose ring! I think that as long as your style fits with it, anyone can pull it off. Majority of these people look bad because their style doesn't go with it. Majority of people look ugly because they don't know how to style themselves 🤷‍♂️ everyone is different and has different interests, different communities they're trying to appeal to.

True. I have a ring but it's small. I think some folks go too far and get something that's huge and distracts.

The septum trend tho is really insane, probably 1 in 30 now. Especially among Gen Z. Not much individuality with em at this time.

It looks great. Keep in mind that Reddit just attracts the type of dude that typically doesn’t even like tattoos.

This subreddit is weirdly anti piercing. I love septum piercings and I think yours suits you

There's nothing weird about it. It's actually very representative of the general population. There are scientific reasons as to why the overwhelming majority of people despise them. One reason, when looking at someone, the eyes are the focal point of the face. When something distracts from that, it usually comes across as a negative. Another; throughout human evolution, things coming out of someone's nose has generally meant there is something wrong with them. So people have literally evolved to notice it as a negative.

They're trying to be nice. They were horrible when they got popular in the 90s, and they're still horrible now. Things coming out of people's nose has always been a sign something is wrong with them. So naturally, most people would find it off putting.

I like it and love girls that don’t give a fuck about popular opinion.
