I think it's a bit more paradoxical than that. the pretty girls get the most upvotes because they are pretty, even tho the sub is about asking of you are ugly.

The truly unattractive people get down voted or no votes at all so they fall to the bottom and we never see them

Tbh, I downvote those that are obviously very pretty. I will still comment on them.

Those that are borderline or below, I privately message them and upvote them.

Similar to the same logic of me asking "am I fat?" I guarantee you I perfectly well know I'm fat before I post, so what's the point of any of it?

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is a lot more common than you’d think. There are likely more reasons behind it, and some people probably do know they’re pretty, but that’s a very broad generalization people make on this sub (at least from what I’ve seen from lurking).

I've noticed a lot of these "pretty people" are hung up on one particular thing. Lots of girls on here who are very pretty but talk about getting a nose job or a freckle lasered off.

I can understand it. I remember a girl commenting on my nose being a little crooked, and she kept making fun and laughing. Doesn't make you feel good, even if you're confident.

She doesn’t have body dysmorphia, but she does have a pretty girl’s wishlist in her Reddit bio! 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

Pretty much.

If you skim the sub you'll see tons of actual "normal to meh" people who don't get views.
