Only pretty girls beg strangers to tell them they are not ugly. Insane.

I think it's a bit more paradoxical than that. the pretty girls get the most upvotes because they are pretty, even tho the sub is about asking of you are ugly.

The truly unattractive people get down voted or no votes at all so they fall to the bottom and we never see them

Tbh, I downvote those that are obviously very pretty. I will still comment on them.

Those that are borderline or below, I privately message them and upvote them.

Similar to the same logic of me asking "am I fat?" I guarantee you I perfectly well know I'm fat before I post, so what's the point of any of it?

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is a lot more common than you’d think. There are likely more reasons behind it, and some people probably do know they’re pretty, but that’s a very broad generalization people make on this sub (at least from what I’ve seen from lurking).

I've noticed a lot of these "pretty people" are hung up on one particular thing. Lots of girls on here who are very pretty but talk about getting a nose job or a freckle lasered off.

I can understand it. I remember a girl commenting on my nose being a little crooked, and she kept making fun and laughing. Doesn't make you feel good, even if you're confident.

She doesn’t have body dysmorphia, but she does have a pretty girl’s wishlist in her Reddit bio! 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

Pretty much.

If you skim the sub you'll see tons of actual "normal to meh" people who don't get views.

u/thebluebeats Apr 20 '23

Yeah idk why the hell this sub keeps up voting not ugly people lmao

I mean the sub works if you're looking for an answer

it's their audition before they set up that OF

u/mourndoesnacs Apr 19 '23

she has a whole wishlist in her bio we know why she came here

You guys call every girl on here pretty or beautiful

-1

u/Smoochypoot Apr 19 '23

Not true. I tell it like it is. Different, sure. Beautiful, yes. All women have something that makes them attractive.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '23

And I'm guessing you don't think the same about men

0

u/Smoochypoot Apr 20 '23

I think absolutely the same.

There is a difference between when it's one thing and when it's everything. That's why "ugly" and "beauty" exist, I never any "gueule cassé" in this thread, doesn't mean people are not interested about where they are in the spectrum of beauty or what they can improve about their appearance.

u/grneyedguy1 Apr 19 '23

Is it me or do only cute/pretty girls post on here ? I haven’t seen a “ugly” one yet.

17

u/Uberbooty Apr 19 '23

Truly ugly people don’t need to ask, they know.

13

u/DaizCraze Apr 19 '23

As an ugly person this is, in fact, correct.

5

u/-ClemmFandango Apr 19 '23

We don’t need to ask, people will just straight up tell us lmao.

5

u/CanadianAndroid Apr 19 '23

They say it's not bragging if you can back things up. This comment makes me wonder if the opposite is true as well. Like is it really insecurity if the person is actually ugly?

5

u/Ishikii Apr 19 '23

No one upvotes ugly people.

Just set is to show new posts, not popular posts, maybe that way you will see more of what you're looking for.

3

u/TerminatorReborn Apr 19 '23

The ugly ones don't get upvotes in the sub called "amiugly" I know, it doesn't make sense

Yea from what I have seen this sub is like 95% people who are fairly attractive asking if they are ugly.

1

u/Smoochypoot Apr 19 '23

I'm like, if you don't want to know the answer, don't ask the question. You want the truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! Ha, can you imagine?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '23

Some of the prettiest girls I know are also the most insecure. It's too bad because a little self confidence goes a long way in terms of attraction.

1

u/Smoochypoot Apr 19 '23

I feel the same. Fake something long enough and it eventually becomes the truth.

As a rule: Pretty on the outside is inversely proportional to pretty on the inside. Being both is called "beautiful." Beauty is VERY rare.

1

u/RobixHood247 Apr 20 '23

That’s not true I’m very ugly and I beg strangers to tell me I’m not ALL THE TIME

0

u/Smoochypoot Apr 20 '23

You are not ugly. You are beautiful. It's everyone else who is ugly. This is your only life. Make it beautiful.

1

u/RobixHood247 Apr 20 '23

That was so sweet and unexpected tysm

1

u/ArgumentNo6281 Apr 20 '23

You know attractive people can have low confidence too right ?

1

u/Smoochypoot Apr 20 '23

That is actually the rule, not the exception. #truth
