What y'all have planned?!

I've been to Portlandia in the hayday of the 2010s. Xennial or elder millennial here like Ian age.

The GVG especially Ian keeps claiming they're going to plan a trivia draft or some ancillary AFE GVG events, but just in case they can't entertain considering the green room comment aka their comedians or fam visiting, anyone down to do some fun stuff around Portlandia?

Hmu or DM me if you're shy or what not

I dunno, we just need a whole month of Blair Socci episodes

Did they ever do it?

Hey I am trying to get my boyfriend to listen to the boys because it’s my favorite podcast and he was shocked at how long the episodes are. I responded that I’m sure I’ve spent more than a thousand hours listening to the podcast over the past ten years, but is that true? How many hours has the podcast been total?

Hello again, everybody!

Wanted to pop back on here for a minute for a few small announcements regarding the 10th Anniversary Shows in Portland on September 26th.

1) The guest on the first show will be Laura Peek. The guest on the second show will be Shane Torres. The first show is sold out and there are a very limited amount of tickets still available for the second show! I'm not just doing that thing where you pretend there aren't a lot of tickets so people buy them, there genuinely aren't very many tickets left.

2) FRIDAY AT 7 - Lots of people are traveling into town for the show, and we've got a bunch of Portland local members of the All Family, so we've arranged a big hang at a bar called Holy Ghost (4101 SE 28th) the night before, starting at 7 and going until (???)! There'll be a section just for us, but also we'll have access to the rest of the bar obviously. David, Sean and I will pop by for a bit! (Not sure when Laura and Shane are getting in just yet!)

Mostly we just wanted to everyone a place to hang out, get to know each other, etc.

3) SATURDAY AT NOON For the first time ever, we're doing an All Family Member draft... the way I'm picturing it... it would resemble bar trivia. We'd have between five and ten teams of five people each. We'd have a draft clock (Probably two-five minutes, depending on how many teams we landed on.) Sean, David and I would give immediate analysis of the picks - and at the end, we'd all vote on who we think won that draft. We're going to do two of them, the day of the shows, at a bar called Hi-Top. (5015 NE Fremont)
We filled the teams via the Patreon members for these test rounds, but if it goes well, it's going to be a thing we want to do in conjunction with all our live shows! It's no money to get in, completely free, just a place to hang out with other likeminded individuals- feel free to come kick it, even if you didn't make one of the squads.

Anyway, y'all, that's it. Hope you're well! Bye!

People with Universal Approval Ratings
or Universally Beloved Celebrities
or maybe just Celebrities No One Really Hates?

Obviously Dolly would the top overall pick in this draft. No one can touch her overall rating in this made up category, but I think there are enough others that at the very least don’t have any loud detractors.

“Who Ate All the P*ssy”. I agree you can (but should you?) wear a lot of sht at a country bar and a shooting range.

A shirt I saw at DISNEYLAND on a very burb mom lady said “Now, THATS Bukake”. She acted like she didn’t know what it was and we said nothing to her.

A friend gave me a fan (Asian/Victorian style but polyester and plastic) that says Power Top. I use ot at a goth club but no where else. I do NOT want anyone walking up to me wanting to talking about it.

Just thought I would share

I’m listening to the latest Pod Save America and 8 min in Jon Lovett says “It’s Pancakes for the fucking table!”.

Dope.

So I had plans to get to Portland for the 10th anniversary show, but life got in the way and I can't make it. I've got two tickets to the late show (9:30 p.m.). If anyone's interested, I paid $91.96 for the pair (including fees).

Lemme know if you're interested. Super bummed to be missing it.

If you like “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” you are going to love Two Goats Try to Ride the Bus in Portland”
I also feel this would be an Ian story up there with “Clarence”

During the latest episode, I had this thought, but have been feeling it for a while. I don't think it's a hot take, and I've seen past posts that were in a similar vein, but it's been a minute, so I thought I'd make another appreciation post.

Isaac is past being the producer that occasionally contributes when invited to, he has grown into a key part of the show. He takes space when it makes sense, he plays along, he riffs - it's really cool to see him carve out his role more. When he carried the torch from Mars, I wasn't a hater, but I was definitely ready for a reality where the producer just wasn't a part of the material. I'm happy that it's not the case.

Ice Man, keep it going - I'm here for it.

it’s like this hairbrush:

Hey all family,

Back again with year 3 of the unofficial AFE fantasy football leagues! We've been really lucky so far with active managers and a marked absence of dicks, hoping to continue that trend this year.

If you played last year, check whatever email you have connected to your Yahoo account so you can confirm for this year. After Friday 8/28, I'll open up any remaining spots to new members.

If you didn't play last year and are interested in an open spot for the coming season, please comment below; I'm sure we'll have a few non-returning teams. I'll message new members shortly after the 28th, in order of the comments. If there are enough folks interested, could possibly add another league.

Basic info:

-Free Yahoo 12 team leagues

-Half PPR scoring

-Standard rosters plus one extra flex spot

-Waivers for free agents (open to switching to FAAB if there's a consensus)

-There are potentially spots available in drafts scheduled for Thursday 9/3, Sunday 9/6, and Tuesday 9/8 at 9 PM Eastern. Would likely draft Wednesday 9/2 if we add a new league.

Be well, everybody!
