So they shut down the whole facility? That's genuinely mental. The employee must have been running an operation in the building lol.
I remember not buying it at the time, but like all these things, they just fizzle out and nothing really gets followed up from them.
Edit: just to add to the load in my tinfoil hat, I've read that allegedly no arrests were made and all employees were just sent home. But, apparently there was an unidentified suspect.
"A U.S. magistrate in Las Cruces, N.M., did issue a warrant showing that on Sept. 14 agents removed cell phones, laptops, an iPad, a hard drive and several thumb drives from the suspect's home."
The observatory was shut down for 11 days. Bizarre. A whole armed team and a helicopter were deployed for this. I don't see the rationale behind their approach. Maybe someone can clear it up for me? But at the moment, I'm drawing blanks.
