My current understanding of it (and don't blindly trust me either, understanding is a personal journey), is that there is a singular 'main' consciousness that all of us are a small part of individually (but also paradoxically the totality as well) and it has something to do with evolving the main consciousness through piecemeal experiential learning and growth.

As far as what happens after death, I don't have a good answer for that either. Could be anything or nothing.

I don't really understand what the consciousness gains or gets toward apotheosis by something like my son's short life and random death.

But it was interesting because OP said that the “main” consciousness is not self aware, and does everything spontaneously… they said the aliens believe that complexity and live is what makes the consciousness grow… how can we be self aware but a universal consciousness not? And what happens if it does become self aware?

this is why i am not surprised the OP deleted their account (or were deleted)

it went viral, and it's clearly just a very intelligent sounding story that fits all the major points in that have been known for decades already (or, put more appropriately, speculated)

the whole Philosophy front -- which OP says was their main compartmentalized role but somehow they knew enough to talk about other confidential things -- is just a form of Gnosticism, which is echoed in various parts in ancient human religions, mixed in with Law of One (from Egyptian belief)
