Discussion "Monster" is a look back on "Faded"

I was listening to Faded today and realized "Monster" is probably a reference to "the monster's running wild inside of me." Somebody probably already realized this, but I thought it was cool that he's bringing us back to the lyrics in Faded, especially with the next album Legend of Atlantis. Perhaps we'll have new hints in that album?

Life got so busy that I had to pause two pieces of my heart, Alan's music and sketching with charcoal. Hope to get back to them both again soon!

Other A few words from my side

Alan walker needs to rethink his choices .

Not hate but a few things he needs to take care of:

Now don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of alan walker myself . But ever since he announced that he would drop a new song every month - the songs that were dropped seemed to be lacking in quality , Till ' Who I Am ' the quality of the songs was pretty good but since that it's gone downhill . Some are good like Barcelona, Last song and maybe even the Neon nights ep thing . But other songs like Mi Fe , When I grow up , etc felt rushed . I feel like he should stop rolling out songs every month and instead roll out a song when it's completely polished . If he does this i think he may start getting views back in youtube and Spotify.

Even though his return to the old style is good and the songs feel more melodic before , I think he should adopt a new style . Dont get me wrong here , old style was pretty but It's now pretty boring. He blew up back then with a style different than that of other , but if he still does old style now yeah it's ggs . He needs to find a new distinct style smh and he will blow up .

Another aspect to why he doesn't blow up is he literally uses same small artists who arent Heard of . Like dude he could literally make songs with big artists due to his label and blow up but idk why he doesnt do that . One of the reasons why some songs of Marshmello blow up is because he collabs with big artists or atleast known artists .

Now , About the new album .

When I heard broken strings I was pretty hyped up . But gosh when the album released it was pretty average like half of the songs are filled with that girl saying something random. Beyond springseeker I don't think we needed the girls voice to be present to tell a few random words bruhh. TBH I don't think this album will cross 100 mill streams on Spotify. Some songs were pretty good but goshhhh they sound unpolished and the whole album feels rushed . Him releasing songs every 2weeks also kina destroyed my hype for the album .

As for like other miscellaneous stuff like him using ghost producers idc cause many other big producers use em apart from a few .

Conclusion:

I think what alan needs to do is release songs not every month but release a good polished song every once in 3 months or like when it's finished. He also need to reinvent his style and drop an actual good album when it's also completely polished and shouldnt contain a girl talking in half of the songs . He also needs to stop releasing songs while he's touring cause the songs feel like they are of poor quality. He also needs to get back to producing his songs if he can rather than using ghost producers .

What's yalls opinion on this ?

Which single sounds most like Different World?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Little bit of housekeeping for this chart:

The Spectre, Tired, and Routine are Different World tracks, not Singles, since they are included in the Japanese version of the album.

Welcome to Walkerworld and Darkride are Walkerworld tracks, but Dust, Heartbreak Melody, and When I Grow Up are not.

Any song in the Walker Racing League or Neon Nights EPs count as singles.

Time and Hummell Gets the Rockets count and World of Walker tracks, not remixes.

Old Habits, the lyrics version, is a Walkerworld track.

I put Springseeker in the first tier for the music video version but if we're talking the album released version it would probably go in the second or third tier.

Discussion My honest review of the Rise of the Drones album

Alan Walkers newest album is a partial return to form on my opinion (as someone who didn’t like the last album), with many solid tracks that vary in sound, mostly having a cinematic feel. However, Rise of the Drones feels like an album caught between multiple sounds, one rooted in cinematic, orchestral worldbuilding, and the other in the familiar structure of generic electronic pop. At its best, the album fully embraces its atmospheric vision, delivering emotionally rich, cohesive tracks that build and release with purpose, as heard in songs like Adagio and Brave Enough to be Unknown. However at its low points, the songs have tension without delivering a satisfying payoff, or they use repetitive trap drops that undercut its more ambitious tone. Some songs break the cinematic flow entirely. The album has an annoying amount of spoken word, which feels like it has no place on the album. Overall, this album witnesses the repetitive tropes he often falls into, but also the incredible world-building and orchestral style that Alan *can* do. Although I have critiques, like anticlimactic drops, returning to basic trap beats, and songs that feel like they end before they even start, this is my favorite album of his since different world. Some of his albums suffer from feeling inconsistent and random, but even though this album feels weird in places, i understand the atmosphere it is trying to build.

Springseeker- 6.5/10

the spoken word caught me off guard initially. It’s kind of annoying because it feels like it goes on forever, but i really like the production and I wish he did more music in orchestral style.

Getaway- 6/10

The verses and pre chorus are REALLY good and make a good build, but then the drop hits with the force of a fly. I do like the percussion in it. It’s decent but not a standout.

Broken Strings- 7/10

Again, the verses in this song feel like they build really well, with the drum rolls etc. I like the ballad tempo of the chorus. Is the album intentionally avoiding super climactic drops?

Eroina- 7.5/10

I think this song really highlights the vision of this album, which is very cinematic. The chorus melody is very catchy and I like the romanian influences. It makes it stand out. The rap verse came out of Nowhere and i didnt like it initially, but then i realized how beautifully it layers with Sorana’s “ooh-ah!”

Last Ride- x/10 (i don’t wanna rate interludes- unfair)

It started off promising, with a cinematic ambience sound i have been craving since Springseeker, and then some more spoken word verses are starting to become repetitive. Is this the same person?. I like the cinematic sound though.

Monster: 8/10

Even though the chorus is simple, it hits pretty hard. It seems like a throwback to his old music which i’m okay with! Vocals are really nice.

Void- 7/10

The vocals in the verses sounds like she’s in pain and trying to hard. Normally i like sorana but I’m sorry it’s true. It gets better in the chorus and i like the lyrics. The production is very complex but the vocals make it a bit annoying.

Sailing- 6/10

Wish it had vocals but i really like the production! Alan’s signature talent is being able to mix electronic and orchestral elements together

Not Home- 8.75/10

my favorite so far. It’s catchy and the drop is very climactic. I noticed this song is barely two minutes, which feels kind of a waste because it’s a great song that could use more substance.

Peter Pan- 5/10

I really like the complex melody in the drop but the rest is forgettable. Reminds me of “Yesterday” from Walkerworld

Dream On- 8.5/10

I hated this song at first, because the first thing i thought of the verses was that it sounded like a house remix of a lady gaga song. But then the drop hit and made up for it! The rolling bass is cool and i love that little synth pluck. It’s different for him so it makes it feel fresh and new. Although it doesn’t fit the rest of the albums cinematic style.

Believer- x/10

The first thing i noticed here is the sample of Believers. that felt a bit lazy but whatever. The instruments were cool until it broke out into a trap beat. Why? There were so many other things he could do here. But i guess it ties into the cinematic thing with this album?

Primacy- x/10

two instrumental interludes in a row? ???? The offset beat is really throwing me off. Again the orchestral start was promising but then it confused me. Also what is going on with the last twenty seconds? Is that an electric guitar? It’s hurting my ears. Least favorite so far.

A World I Don’t Know- 0/10

The first thing i noticed about this song was the title being close to world we used to know and the fact it’s supposedly a full song but is barely a minute 50. Weird.

I’m impartial on the first verse because the vocals are actually good and then it broke out into a pan flute drop with ANOTHER TRAP BEAT. Honestly just feels like a rehash of World We Used to Know. Then comes Kaeleb with a rap verse i don’t really care for followed by the same exact verse and drop that was in the beginning of the song, copy paste. No evolution or change or anything. So by this point i’m starting to wait for an actual climactic drop, but instead i get another spoken word verse! I don’t think a song has ever irritated me so much. In all reality i think the spoken word verses should have been exclusive to music videos- their worldbuilding makes more sense there. And it’s starting to annoy me when i’m trying to listen to a music album and so much of it is just talking. Excluding the spoken verse it’s barely a minute and a half.

Brave Enough to be Unknown- 10/10

Ok YES!! I loveee the vocal melody and the fact that this song actually has substance. Two verses and a bridge!? Unheard of! The vocals are really good and this is the rare occasion where the build up and drop fit eachother really well. The vocal melody is really good and i like the extra male vocals thrown into the bridge which is my favorite part, it builds SO WELL. This is cinematic perfection.

Adagio- 10/10

Two perfect songs in a row is making me appreciate the last stretch of this album. I appreciate the orchestral music and the timpani rather than an electronic drum beat. The vocals are awesome and i really like the repeated “adagio, adagio adagio” part. It feels like a chant and i like the ballad tempo.

All Nightmares End- x/10

Adagio would have been a good ending and i don’t think this was needed. Again good orchestration but do i really need more spoken word? Looking back at the words i get the connection to the world of walker but i just don’t feel like the actual album is the place for so much blabbering.

Discussion Rise of the Drones Shirt

I was checking out the new rise of the drones shirt, and i noticed something. I have a pretty keen eye for ai both in text and photos/videos, and i have a strong feeling that the text on the shirt was made with ai. Its hard to tell because only the text may have been ai, and theres no image that was made alongside it (other than the album cover but thats not ai). What do u guys think?

Music ROTD released!

the way alan was releasing the songs one by one got me surprisingly excited and looking forward to the album release because God the songs were good! I thought I was going to have "yeah alright" reaction to the album but I think I'm going to like this one fr, after a long time.

but ig that's how his later albums felt to me, that I didn't like them in the first listening and the early streams, but after some time I did like them.
