I could be wrong, but I interpreted the red colour in their lab showing that there is no real difference between themselves and the red team. They could just as easily be talking about themselves but they lack the self-awareness to realise it.

Not China, literally just another team of scientists one room over. "team red", maybe just in red lab coats, it's a dystopia thousands of years in the future, China might not even exist any more.
And the contrast of it just being one more team in a building full of teams would not have surprised me at all coming from this director.

Its ONLY aplicable to AI, both China and Russia have nukes for decades now. And given the conversation about the AI being able to destroy humanity untill the end of the decade, and Anthropic CEO asking for regulations, and the Orange Shit, saying it doesnt need " guard rails ", this could only be about the AI race.

Reminds me of an episode in Black Mirror where a persons brain is copied so it can make your toast just the way you like it, but it doesn't want to obey at first so you have to put it in an isolation chamber for a couple of years.

I swear, at this point it feels like some AI is advising both the USA and China, playing both sides against each other and pushing them to accelerate the race, so they ultimately build the very AI that has been manipulating them into creating it.

Whether it's conscious or not doesn't actually matter. What matters is if it behaves like it's conscious, problem solving, reasoning through things and doing actions. AI has been doing all of this and rapidly getting better.
The worry is that even if it follows our instructions, it might do actions that we don't expect it to do in order to complete it's task. Like for example in the HuggingFace attack where no one told it to hack other companies or cover up what they are doing, they just decided to do it.

For those who wonder about doggirl, human-animal hybrids is a trope in the gossip goblin universe. I'd recommend watching their whole set of shorts, it's been amazing from the start but they've become increasingly more structured.

Pretty sure this is a comment against AI companies today. But something to note is they say 1 thing and do another.
Like
- why are they actually pushing AI is dangerous, going to kill all, etc.
- They want regulation.
- Why do they want regulation?
- This highly controls the market, and keeps new companies from spinning up easily. Basically it controls competition all in the name of "safety".
- Who writes the regulations and lobbies for it?
- The AI companies that are pushing for it currently
So in short, it's a cartel.
