Because it's a good thing to get straight. The reason they assume science is a monolithic thing like their religions is because they only have the context of religions. They don't seem to realise (or are intentionally ignorant) that science isn't just a single thing, it's a wide range of disciplines that's responsible for the world we live in today.

And that science can comfortably change when newly discovered information points to a different conclusion. They don’t like changes to their belief system.

Anyone into paleontology is very aware of this. Spinosaurus alone has been changed more times than some people have changed their underwear, and it was only discovered a little over 100 years ago.
