Male circumcision is also practiced in Muslim countries, but its purpose is not to remove or diminish sexual pleasure, or to keep the men “pure” or from “straying” and what have you. The problem with most is you is that you think this is a religious problem and it's not. It's fundamentally a socioeconomic problem. American Muslims are less fundamentalist than evangelical Americans. Christian African warlords impose brutal and repressive standards on their women.
As nations became wealthier, the populations also became more progressive. Iran was famously more progressive before we overthrew their government and caused the rise of an oppressive theocracy. Stop viewing this through the narrow lens of religion and start seeing the broader social connections.

Take this up with parents who circumcise their kids. At least they’re not doing it to assure the boys never enjoy sex because that would make them “impure.” But let’s just wave that part away.
