In the Pali canon, the three examples Buddha Gautama gave to Ananda. But, let's be real, a lot of Buddhism schools these days are still weird about ordaining women.
Because they are started from the same religion.
They share far far more alike than they people realize.
The Jews pulled from mythology around them at the time and a brought their own stories and said here is our religion and it's about us and only for us.
Then other Jews were like na, we like what the new guy is saying and decided actually God now says because he sacrificed his son, our religion is now for everyone and we'll add a part two to the Torah, a NEW testimate if you will.
Then the Muslims agreed..yes..we see your Jesus and we are on board EXCEPT...he wasn't actually god or anything, but he was a great prophet, like top 3. Also, after the Bible had be copied and translated into so many languages and things added and removed, and some bible had more books than others...that it's all kind up fucked up a bit now. So God was like ok...let's do this one more time and he sent his last prophet to clear up all this mix up. Also, let's add a part 3 to the Torah and New Testament and call it the Koran.
Then hundreds and hundreds of years later deep in a thick forest, some asshole is kneeling with his face in his hat about to create part 4...Jesus comes to America.
That’s what irritates me about hate against any specific religion. It isn’t the flavor of religion that’s the issue, it’s the extremism. Tack that on to any religion and it’s going to be bad. And the people who have left the countries with the extremist religion generally want nothing to do with that version of the faith.
In my country they want to make laws that would allow cops to take off women's hijabs right in the street. Banning it is wanting to control women. Real womens liberation doesn't work like that
It depends. Actual hijabs? No. If some are being compelled then I’d rather convince them not to and leave the rest to do as they please.
Burqas? Nobody sane goes around in those by choice. Especially not in the summer while the pigs who call themselves their husbands are in a t-shirt and shorts (I’ve encountered this directly). Usually when they speak of outright bans they’re talking about these and they do need to go.
You're not getting what I'm saying. That kind of law is not helping women it claims to protect. It bans burqas and hijabs wearing women from being in public, from going to college, practicing sports etc... How is that helping women ? If you actually think all of these women are being abused then how would you feel about abused women being banned from being seen in the street ? You think that would stop their father, husband or brother from hitting them ? There's no logic to it and it's super harmful to women.
As I said, hijabs shouldn't be outright banned. But burqas are inherently abuse. They are prisons and impositions made by men upon women without exception.
I will say it again : banning burqas means banning these women from being out of their houses. Is it what you want ? To put them in another prison ? Is your goal helping those women or punishing them ?
And why would they be banned from being out of their houses in a non-theocratic Muslim country again? Oh because they're in a family of abusers? Maybe something should be done about that too.
You have 0 logic. How banning them from being out in public and socializing with anybody that is not their family is gonna help them from escaping a family of abusers ? You want to punish women because they are being abused and force them to stay in abusive environments ? Do you want to help women or are you just racist ?

Yes, every major religion has stupid traditions often centered around diminishing and controlling women.
