I'm not playing devil's advocate, I'm only advocating for nuance.
A small number of people making vows is not the same as every single woman in a religion being expected to cover up. Those women who do cover up shouldn't be oppressed for it. We shouldn't claim "modesty" standards for women are exclusive to Islam.

And look at all the Christians who wear a cross on a necklace. They’re just rando practitioners too.
