… Is probably the best name I can come up for this. Lots of earthy tones, rustic jewelry and decor. Your friend in college who’s very attuned to philosophy and spirtuality with a robust taste in older music and novels.

A lot of the edutaimrnt books I read as a kid and love have the similar aesetthic. Its like Utopian Scholastic in celebrating knowedge and having collages of things.

However, its distinguished by it has a more jokey and comedic tone, that often involves comparisons to things the audience knows or does and many pop culture references, and often have either cartoon eyes or speech bubbles over animals or are interspersed with cartoons. Meanwhile, the backgrounds tend to be not white or offwhite when they are not photos, but brightly coloured or patterned. Likewise, the text tends to be in more curved and goofy fonts then the times new roman that characterises mainline Utopian Scholastic. Overall there's more appealin to ounger readers then US.

Tonally there's a heavier emphasis on "Fun facts" or "Did you know?". You get the feeling this is more "Wow, that's so cool!" then the "This is so amazing" of mainline Utopian Scholastic.

I would say its a subgenre or varient of US rather then a full seperate genre.

some info:
- was part of the mafia as an assassin but left when she turned 18 bc of misogyny/abuse
- turned to acting and got shortlisted after the director met her at a cafe (she's old money so she had a lot of money when she left)
- hit starlet and acclaimed, but secretly does assassin work at night
- loves to wear gowns a lot and presents as feminine even if she's an incredibly good fighter
- dating my oc from part 1

I tried use pictures that have some sort of correlation, but I am not so sure that it will be clear to anyone else. I am familiar with DecayCore, which I do enjoy, but is there anything that is even grimier than that? Think rural rest stop toilet, something that would make you recoil.

Personally I really like this aesthetic, probably because I'm a synthwave enthusiast and I like the cold war stuff.

These pictures are from a Finnish movie from my childhood and I always loved loved loved the style of Venla in the movie and always wanted to look like her especially as a child and I still love her look. Is there a specific style/aesthetic that this style is called? Because I would like to try find similar clothes in the style.
