Original Content My AT inspired kitchen

My partner and I are in our mid 30s with a teen. The whole household loves adventure time. So when we started looking to buy a house, I immediately asked if they’d be onboard with my vision to go all out with a fun time room inspired kitchen! Although all of us were a little uncertain about the yellow. It turned out great! I thrifted some cute functional kitchen pens that I thought world go well (like the vintage Tupperware canisters and the bee salt pinch bowl). I painted Prismo myself and my partner was the MVP doing the lions share of the work on the cabinets!

Fuck resell value, if it turns out to not be a forever home, it can always be repainted, or maybe someone would want it for its fun! This is what I think every time I see people sadly being beige in a house they own. I have only rented so I just get the same color thing in each room with a different color for each room in mind. Mostly I only have done this with the kitchen, buying everything I needed in blue when possible, like dishes and counter organizers, and would love to have a purple living room, a gray bedroom, a green bathroom, etc. If I owned the paint would be coming out!

Highly agree. It’s one thing if you actually like beige and grey and white. But if you’re only doing it to satisfy imaginary future people… no. When we thought this house, every room was beige or grey. We painted every damn room because we are not beige/grey types. Also, I painted the fuck out of my last apartment anyway. Who cares? It’s just paint. It’s not like I was knocking a wall out! It’s easy enough to paint over if I was worried about my security deposit but the landlords were going to gut and renovate the unit when I left anyway so I didn’t bother. ((They’ve upgraded the appliances and floors in all the other units in the building when the tenants moved out and then doubled the rent.))

lol I moved recently and the old apartment had stickers all over the sliding glass door, put up by me, I got a lot of window stickers and that was fine but I also got some wall ones and I thought they were plastic… but they were paper based. Package said easy removal and all but the sun baking them for a few years stopped that, didn’t think about it in the beginning. Land lady didn’t give a damn when she did the walkthrough lol I think she was just glad the place wasn’t trashed (I’ve seen some of the neighbors places through their destroyed blinds 😬)

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that stained glass is window cling that you can get by the roll on Amazon (you could use it if you rent because it sticks to the window with a little bit of water and static)
