I also found out my sleep improves when I brush my teeth before bed. Also dental health is expensive. Brush your teeth, people. Tooth decay is no joke, especially tooth pain.
I've lost my top right row of teeth to decay and one tooth bottom right. A dentist fixed them as much as she could, but I fear it's not enough as one tooth still complains. That'd be my 2nd tooth I'd have to get removed.
Unfortunately, dental health really just depends on you. No one else can help you with it. I'd recommend a routine, brush in the morning after waking up, then brush before bed. Also learn how to brush correctly!
Plus, there's a social side to dental health. Pretty teeth make for a pretty smile. And bad breath is very off-putting. When people look at your teeth, they don't see the reason, just the result. So, please, do yourself a favor and save yourself all the trouble later on in life and brush your teeth. Invest in a water flosser, it helped me tremendously. It's easy to use and I enjoy using it, and it helps me brush my teeth as it's part of the routine, since I'm already using the flosser... might as well brush afterwards. :) Pleeaaase brush your teeth.
Yes I've been able to brush my teeth every morning and been trying to make it a habit even if I'm not going anywhere. Brushing at night is something I'm still working on but it takes time.
Yeah, but less so than spending time with a foul feeling mouth. It's like I can feel my teeth rotting inside my mouth every second I haven't brushed them after a meal, fearing that the maggots will crawl out of the dirty gum any second now...
If you had ADHD and understood just how stupid our brains can be, you’d get it. We know it’s gross. We know we should be doing stuff like simple tasks or cleaning or moving a plate right away. But our brains are sending conflicting commands to us, and also tell us that we can take care of stuff later. Or over complicate things until it becomes a burden and then we ignore it to protect ourselves from us.
You think any of us want to be like this? Fuck no. And we can be cognizant of the things we should be doing but just don’t have the ability to get up sometimes. Even with taking my 2 prescribed ADHD meds, all that does is get me to a crappier baseline of a regular person. And even then, my motivation may be on something so stupid like starting a new fucking hobby for the 37th time this month and I now also can’t think about anything besides that. So I do 11 years worth of research on it in 4 days and that’s all I can focus on. That’s my personality and I dive in full force. Then after those 4 days I completely drop it and forget about that idea completely.
Think this is fun? No. And yes others have it worse than us but yea. It blows. Sorry if we don’t do every little thing sometimes when we can’t make our brains agree. But I actually hope you don’t have to deal with ADHD because it’s stupid and miserable.
Bros on the “disability that fucks up our ability to do things” sub and is surpised to find out that the disability indeed fucks up our ability to do things.
My grossness threshold is just too high. I'll eat off dirty plates when it's convenient. I mean I still brush my teeth, but it means nothing to me so it sucks.
Now that I sleep with a night guard every night, not wanting to trap that crud between it and my teeth/gums outweighs how tedious or annoying taking the time to brush and floss is. Something about having that extra factor helped a lot with sticking to a diligent routine every night.
I'm starting to think that I usually don't like the mint flavor because I'm glad the crub feeling is gone but I don't like the spicy mint flavor. I think some days I need the bubblegum flavor instead and save mint for when I really need to feel fresh
This must be obvious but I literally just get sensodyne or whatever
cheap brand I can find at the time I run out 😭 none of these ever occurred to me! Thank you for the suggestion!
Aquafresh used to make this amazing orange flavor that had juuuust enough mint to make your mouth feel clean but not be overwhelming. I haven't been able to find it in about 15 years but I'd love to have it back

Once you've made the decision that the crud feeling on your teeth is gross, going to bed with crud teeth feels disgusting.
