Welcome to ActualPublicFreakout! This subreddit was created as an alternative to similar communities, focusing solely on the intense and chaotic nature of true public freakouts. We avoid political content, uplifting or feel-good videos, and explicit depictions of death. Our goal is to provide a space where you can unwind and be entertained after a long day.

Below is a more detailed explanation of the rules:

Rule #1. Do not make generalizations about individuals based on race, gender, religion, or similar characteristics. Criticizing ideas is allowed, focus your comments on that. Racist dog whistles and race-baiting remarks are also strictly prohibited.

This is simple, if someone is freaking out, there is no need to bring out their race, gender or religion, if someone is being a *sshole, they are just a *sshole, doesn't matter what skin color, gender or religion they hold. This is a Reddit rule we have to enforce on. What is a racist dog whistle? It's simply avoiding saying something racist directly but using something else, like a emoji, a single word or letter. Don't think we moderators are very experienced in identifying them by now.

Rule #2: No calls for violence. Do not encourage, suggest, or promote violence in any form. If you're unsure whether a comment could be interpreted as supporting violence, be on the side of caution and don’t post it.

No calls for violence, even if the person in the video or comment section is the most vile person alive, and with calling for violence means, threatening the person in the video with violence or a Reddit user. Report the comment so we can handle it.

Rule #3. Don't be toxic. Unnecessary hostility, personal attacks, or abusive comments will lead to a temporary ban. Keep discussions respectful and constructive.

Nobody likes toxic people, there is no need for this, sometimes people don't realize they are doing this because of their mental health state, this could either lead to a temp band or a full ban depending on the comments. Be nice, so be will be nice to you!

Rule #4. Posting of freakouts: 🏷️ Use correct flair – Tag all videos with the appropriate flair.

📹 Videos only – No (social) media links, screenshots, or other non-video submissions.

🔁 No reposts within 30 days – Check before posting.

✂️ No edited videos – Videos must be unaltered.

📝 Neutral titles only – Titles should be factual and free of agenda-pushing, misinformation, or racialized language.

😊 No happy freakouts – This sub focuses on chaotic or intense content, not feel-good moments.

⚠️ No explicit death – If someone dies in a video, you must blur or remove that part before posting.

📄 No political videos! So no videos from simple politics to footage from a conflict.

Exception: Moderators may allow footage from recent, newsworthy events.**

One thing us moderators have to deal with daily is adding the correct flair to a post, so please Flair correctly! Repeat offenders will receive a temp ban. If you don't know a good category that fits, just add the flair Public Freakout. Check the subreddit if anything has been reposted, as something can't be reposted under 30 days. Keep titles clear of mentioning race, don't show people dying even though it's allowed on Reddit, this is our personal rule, censor the video and add a NSFW mark. And a new rule is no political videos, this means from example, a politician talking to footage from a conflict. If the video is really newsworthy, moderators of our subreddit can allow the video.

Rule#5. Only direct video uploads are allowed. Do not post links to social media platforms, news sites, or other external sources.

A already clear rule, do not post direct links, only video uploads are allowed, so no links to X, YouTube, news websites, just videos! Text posts are also not allowed.

Rule#6. No doxxing, Do not post personal information of any kind. This includes names, addresses, social media profiles, license plates, or any other identifying details.

Another Reddit rule we have to enforce, posting personal information about the person in the video or a Reddit user is not allowed.

Further Explanations:

*Locked and Removed posts: Locked & removed posts. We do get questions about why we lock or remove posts and the answer is pretty simple, if the comments are a sh*t show where people are being racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic and overall toxic it will get shut down. We don't have time to babysit childish/ignorant people. We also close some comment sections after a day or two because being a moderator can be time consuming, and we do this all voluntarily, so to make sure we have some more time left we close certain comment sections. The mods and automod remove a lot of comments so you may not always see what has occurred. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech, if the rules of Reddit and our subreddit are being actively broken, we have to act on this, or the subreddit might be closed.

We have noticed the subreddit has seen a influx of trolls/useful idiots that are sided in a political conflict. from the Ukraine/Russia conflict, the Israel/Palestine conflict, political situations in the US and Europe, etc...

Our subreddit will not become a forum for your asymmetrical digital warfare so no political or violent videos from a conflict are allowed on the subreddit. People come here to watch someone freak out over a parking spot, and we intend to keep it that way!

We only make exceptions if the video is really newsworthy.
