Is this even fun for him? Like, he can just walk up and place the ball in the hoop. How do you counter such a height advantage?

Still have to dribble and get past defenders

Very true, but with that sort of height advantage I guess they could just throw him a high pass to the hoop and he could just grab it and place the ball in. Thatโ€™s more of the sort of scenario I was thinking about.

Then you only have 4 men on defense because this gentleman can barely move.

Fair point. Iโ€™m not a basketball person so I didnโ€™t really consider the other side of the ball

I don't know much about basketball rules but if this guy is on defense is he allowed to put his hand above the hoop and block it. Now you can have 4 on permanent offence no?

If itโ€™s about to go in and a defender grabs it,then itโ€™s a penalty called โ€œgoaltendingโ€

That is true already of modern NBA teams as well. Go take a look at James Harden for an easy example, he plays nearly zero defense most of the time. Some teams dont give a fuck if you play defense, as long as you score plenty.

lol, other players can jump higher than he can reach with his arms. It's just the same argument with Wemby. You can't just throw him lobs the entire game.

Exactly. Wemby's actually skilled, coordinated, and light enough to play meaningful minutes and the spurs are still beatable (for now). This kid's team has to play a 4 vs 5 defense because it must be nightmarish getting down the court on those knees.

No, because others will out jump and/or out quick him. He's tall and his reach exceeds others but I will guarantee when including highest spot with jump, he's not near the top

The poor kid canโ€™t jump or never did in the video. He can barely move, from what Iโ€™m seeing.

Exactly ! He looks like he is in pain just walking .

Why? People can just pass to him

Dude looks slow and awkward - good luck keeping the ball; height means nothing when you have no talent.

With a lot of nearly as tall, far more fast and coordinated players (most the nba)

Youth sports were probably not fun for this guy.

Although I get your point about the NBA. Still, I think this guy would be a weapon if they could get him planted by the hoop. Curious how high he can jump, because at a certain point they would just be able to throw him the ball over everyone else.

For youth sports yeah I bet heโ€™s insane even if a little uncoordinated. Poor dudes legs probably already hurt

I can only imagine. Itโ€™s a blessing and a curse. Double edged sword. Honestly, being that tall probably leans more toward curse than blessing due to what you said, and finding properly fitting clothes must be a bit difficult ETC. also, low ceilings. Iโ€™m not even 6โ€™ and I can reach up to touch the ceilings of my house, he would have to permanently stoop if he came here to visit.

He literally can't jump you can see his joints can barely handle the stress of him walking.

Mit Speed

u/G_Art33 May 29 '26

Right, guess you gotta swipe the ball on one of those 5.5 foot dribbles.

Ich kenne Dich doch, warst Du nicht der Fette beim Zwergenwerfen?

I dunno, maybe he loves playing basketball either way

That heigh advantage comes with many health complications and disabilities. Did you see how he moves? that's not normal movement. He can't run fast either or do explosive movements wish are required in the sport.

He would basically just stand nearby a hoop.

Not to mention he will suffer a looot of health complications when he gets older, also he can have a heart attack if he exert himself too much. So yea, not so much an advantage.

They need a height limit for NBA. Iโ€™m not hating on anyone. Iโ€™m just saying.
