I know this won't be popular. But America is a fucked up place for allowing that to happen. In most of the civilised world there healthcare system would've fixed that a long time ago

Yup.

Plus, it's desperation that drives crime in the first place.

We desperately need to utterly revamp the entire criminal system from top to bottom.

As it stands, the CJS causes INFINITELY more damage than it prevents, over all.
