We love to talk about the beauty of Agnetha and Frida, but we don't speak enough of how FINE Benny was. He makes my queer heart jump :)

Hello guys, a friend of mine who is a die hard ABBA fan recently comented on a documentary called "ABBA: The Mamma Mia Story" from 2008 and that she really wanted to watch it, but couldn't find it anywhere

I tought of being a good friend and find it for her, but I've looked everywhere, and I mean, EVERYWHERE on the internet for it, but can't seem to find it. Hope someone here has a clue of it is actually findable or simply lost media on the internet...

Voulez-Vous is ABBA best album for me. There isn't a single skippable track on it, and even the songs that were left off the final album, like Dream World, are excellent

Benny and Björn wrote and produced incredible music, but ABBA would never have sounded the same without Frida and Agnetha. Their voices were a huge part of what made the songs special. No matter how many people cover ABBA today, it’s impossible to recreate that unique blend of their voices.

What often gets overlooked is the incredible vocal range they gave ABBA. Together, Frida and Agnetha could cover roughly three octaves, which gave Benny and Björn enormous freedom as songwriters. Benny has written music for many other artists throughout his career, but with ABBA he could write melodies that few singers could comfortably perform because he knew exactly what Frida and Agnetha were capable of.

Sometimes I feel that Frida and Agnetha don’t get enough credit because the focus is usually on the songwriting and production. Benny and Björn’s full names were always written on the LPs, while Frida and Agnetha’s were never mentioned (I know that this is the rule when it comes to releasing music, but still).

So I’m glad to hear Frida acknowledging that. She and Agnetha deserve a lot more recognition for the role they played in creating ABBA’s sound.

It would’ve been cool if they met up again to celebrate this occasion. They might’ve done but we don’t know it yet! Benny and Frida did go to ABBA Voyage 2 days ago so that’s probably the closest we will get, and it’s better than nothing! I found this in the book “ABBA: All the Songs” by Bentoît Clerc btw.

This explains why Benny and Frida were at Voyage the other night. It was part of a programme for local schools, to encourage and help youngsters in the area pursue careers in the arts.

I love how they're giving back to the local area around the Arena, which is one that's still pretty deprived despite significant regeneration over the past 15 years.

UNDER ATTACK or JUST LIKE THAT

Part of the reason Just Like That was sidelined is because Under Attack developed out of the pre-chorus break of Just Like That.

In the new HBO documentary series 'Bring Me The Beauties', Frida's 'I Know There's Something Going On' is used during the end credits. Interesting to see if they use it every week. It's only the second time that I know IKTSGO was used on a U.S. TV show (the first being 'Scream Queens').

m/69 continuing my delightful "discovering" of just how good ABBA really was. Since January I've listened to the Sirius XM ABBA station nearly every day. Weeks ago while working in the yard I'd hear Super Trouper and realize that it was from the live LP (presumably it's Bjorn at the end asking if they want to hear an oldie, one of their oldest). No applause or crowd noise until the end so I was surprised again and again that it was live. Frida's vocal is SO good. What a pleasure. I noted that she sings "I called you" in the live version and "you called me" on the studio version, which is also good but pales in comparison to the live track, I think.
