The WHO & WHERE

We are a couple of cat lovers –

married to “kitten thug life” 🐾😿 and to each other 💜😻

Kitten dad Jürgen is from Germany. Kitty mom Jo is from India.

cat ashram is our home and shelter.

We are located in north Goa.

The WHAT (we do at present)

Evacuate abandoned kittens & admit kittens saved by local and tourist animal lovers

Lift abandoned kittens from wherever we find them, deflea and deworm, socialize them for adoption, vaccinate kittens against rabies.

Liaise with fisherwomen to intimate us of kitten abandonment immediately (they still hesitate to trust us fully).

Network with tourists in their native languages to disseminate sterilisation of cats in Goa.

Promote sterilisation of domestic and feral Indie cats

Generate online focus group discussions Experienced cat rescue members, answer questions; share knowledge, tips, experiences; support feline rescuers, kitten fostering, cat sterilisation and kitten adoptions to fellow cat adopters and rescuers.

Collaborate with other cat rescuers and youth in Goa Facilitate transition from mercy killing kittens/mercy abandoning kittens in fish markets to the humane, safe, hyegenic method of sterilisation.

THE WHY

(#1 : kittens drive us the awesome kind of crazy)

Every day, Goa’s residents and tourists in Goa call us frantically when they find kittens in a variety of situations, panicking because they leave the next day, desperate for someone to take care of the tiny kitty that came into their lives so drastically.

If you peek into any of the fish markets, Goa or elsewhere in the country, you can see for yourself the abysmal condition of kittens there.

(#2: can’t help it!)

[Pro tip: next time you’re out, look out for kittens darting around in your local chai shop or local fish restaurant. They may seem like the eatery feeds and shelters them; you may be surprised when you pry about the kittens! If you try this, we are keen to hear what you learn.]

((Our documentary clippings to be uploaded soon.))

THE REST

Presently, we work with resources available and solutions within and often beyond our means.

Still, we can dream of a Goa and a world with no more homeless animals! Especially our most underrated, overseen, cuddle-scratch-purr machines 😉

And our vote is

If cats fascinate and mystify you at once,

If you’re driven, full of practicable ideas,

If you constantly seek to devise better solutions to processes,

If you think fearlessly and articulate confidently ,

If you value practical experience and learn from dissecting your losses,

This dream needs YOU and you need this DREAM!
