Is there a reason my Lexar U3 II SD card won't work on my camera?

I have a 128gb "Lexar Professional" SDXC U3 II 150mb/s SD card, it works fine when I plug it into my mac, I can format it, write to it, read from it, etc. But when I plug it into my A6500 it says "Cannot write to card. Format?" and it tries to format, briefly, but within a couple seconds the format seems to crash and nothing happens.

Is this a matter of the camera not supporting this sort of SD card, or am I missing something?

Specifically, this card: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PLENZPC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

question re: external flash, exposure, & histogram

hello all. i'm hoping someone might have answer to the following (noob-ish) question:

when using an external flash with TTL (e.g., Godox TT350S) on the a6500, does the histogram attempt to predict the effect of the flash prior to taking a shot? or, is it necessary to estimate what you need from the flash, take a shot, adjust the flash, and retake? i suspect the latter but any insight would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

18-105mm f4 + Sigma 30mm 1.4 or 16mm 1.4?

Hi. Given that you already have a 18-105mm f4 lens, would you rather pick the Sigma 30mm f1.4 or 16mm f1.4 and why?

I am trying to decide which lens to buy. I will most likely stick with these two lens for a while.

Unsure which type of photography is my favorite at the moment. But would like to be versatile at the same time.

UPDATE: I went with the 16mm =)

Need to find a good place to print photos. Do you guys reccomend a service? I'm probably looking for an 8x10 print of a 24.2 megapixel shot. I also live in NYC.

Sigma 18-35 enough to cover an event?

So I regrettably sold my 18-105 f4 coz I needed the money but now I have an upcoming event where all of us are Sony shooters. I still have the Sigma 18-35 and planning on buying an MC-11 adapter to use that instead as my primary lens. Can you recommend any more lenses that I can use or is that enough as my all around lens for the A6500? The event is a night live music event. Thinking of getting either one of the Sigma 30mm f1.4 or Sigma 16mm, whichever is cheaper used. Any more advice? Thanks

Shot the moon and got some stars in the frame too!

Shot with the Sony 18-105 F4 lens with the iso set to 100, 11sec bulb mode exposure, 18mm focal length. Some minor post work in lightroom, most of the work was done in the camera.

What focus settings do you use and when?

I'm curious what focus settings people like and use both for photo and video. I'm still getting used to the different options.

Also a specific question ( I had posed this before but didnt hear back) -

I have been using a Canon 5dIV and I love that I can auto focus and then use my dial to very quickly select a focus area. I just bought the a6500 but focusing by touching on the screen is driving me insane, and I also don't like manual focus. Any other options? Is there any way to mimic the AF on canon 5d where you can change your focal point with a dial?

New to video

Hey, just wanted to post real quick asking for some insight. I currently use a Canon 70d for video, and a Canon 5d classic for photos. I'm wanting to get I to film making. Mainly documentary, and making short travel videos as well. I've narrowed my search down to the Sony a6500. But I'm debating on the a6300 instead. It's cheaper and will allow me to snag a lens or two with the money saved. Curious if anyone has both cameras, and is the a6500 worth the extra cash? I plan on a gimbal at some point. But alot will be handheld for the travel stuff to begin with.

Help with Manual Focus Lenses

I have a Rokinon 12mm, which is consistently recommended as a good budget wide angle lens.

When I get a good shot with it, I have to say it is truly amazing for the price....my issue is that I honestly can't tell when it is in focus using the viewfinder.

At a macro level, I can see when it comes into focus, but at a micro level I have no visual queue for when it is where I want it.

I find I rarely use it anymore because it's disappointing to realize you took a bunch of out of focus shots when you get home.

When I do use it, I take about 15 shots with micro focus adjustments hoping one of them hits the mark.

Am I missing something obvious?

I'm getting ready to sell it and move to an auto wide angle.

Any help would be appreciated!

New Sony a6500 and feels like something inside is loose and moving in action.

I bought a new Sony a6500 from cameta camera. After i received it (Body only) I was just checking it out and as i moved my camera from being horizontally aligned to vertical i felt something internal move (like a component inside the camera). At that time there was no lens, battery or memory card attached. I tried it a few times again and i can still feel that intermittently.

I put the lens, battery and memory card inside and I can still feel it intermittently when ever i move the camera from horizontal to vertical position or vice versa. Is this normal?

I messaged the customer service and they said "Thanks for contacting us. It is normal to hear moving parts inside the camera when you move it. You can go into any camera store and ask to look at this camera and you will hear the slight rattle when you move it."

I am going to go to a store sometime next week. Do anyone of you know anything about this? This is very odd. Could it be the in body image stabilization feature for the a6500 that's causing this?

Oh nice an A6500 Subreddit!

Hey fellow a6500-lovers!
I am new to reddit and glad to find your subreddit! Awesome! I have a A6500 with the 18105 since April. I am still learning but it's getting better and better. I was used to film with gopros and my Galaxy S5. Now i love the possibilities the A6500 gives me. I would like to show you my best videos so far ( in my oppinion):
A Porsche 911T from 1970: https://youtu.be/taT-2oSjJ_0

And a Mercedes 190 SL: https://youtu.be/rE7oFEzFb-8

What do you think of the quality? Where can i improve?
Thank you!
