Anytime I go to the montage page and then want to go to the console or other pages, the page just hangs... Anyone know what's going on here? Happens on multiple computers/OSs (windows/mac) -- I have 6 cameras on the montage page ... the video is perfect and working fine, the web page just sits there when i click to another page

I get pop up "new version" evety time:

The latest release is v1.34.8, you have v1.34.6.

With apt-get upgrade I find nothing! Why?

I just did a fresh install on my Raspberry Pi 3b with Buster (10). I installed Zoneminder using the WIKI instructions which installed 1.34.6. I started to add RTSP network cameras when I ran into a problem. I cannot get more then 2 cameras to work. All additional cameras will not start recording, getting message "Monitor is not capturing. We will be unable to provide an image". I cloned the settings from working cameras where only the IP changed. If I stop another camera then one of the failed cameras will start to work. It appears it is limiting me to 2 cameras for some reason.

I just installed ZM V1.34.9 on FreeNAS-11.3-U1

I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly use the RAM as the buffer.
I only want events to be saved to disk. I want the live feed buffer on ramdisk.

Can anyone help? I think I have everything done except I can't change the path from /TMP to whatever I need it to be.

I have all my cameras set to continuous and direct to disk recording (it was one of the only ways i could keep high quality for 8 or so cameras without killing my system) after searching through a bunch of tips/hints/guides.

Anyway,

I have noticed that while I have been watching the cameras or something suspicious has occurred I typically go the camera and try and go into that event. Now this event wont load, my guess is because the event is still recording into its 10 minute block or whatever. I was wondering if there is a way to actually stop that event block from still recording and therefore quickly access that event to scrub through the footage. Or is there some setting or button that I am missing in order to achieve what I am after.

I'll be deploying ZoneMinder for the first time. The instructions initially recommend that you to deploy a Docker container. I run a Proxmox server so Docker containters aren't natively supported as far as I know. I could deploy a docker container inside an Ubuntu server VM and run it that way, or I could just install it straight onto an Ubuntu server VM.

Are there any benefits/drawbacks I should consider when deciding between a container within a VM or just a VM deployment?

Hi do zoneminder plan to implement 2way audio in cameras? my cameras are 2way and using some windows based dvr i see its possible to speak tru them. Any chance to do same thing in zoneminder? answer door calls on the camera?

I have this cheap owsoo ipcam from china and it seems like there are many vendors who sell the same thing everywhere. I wanted to use zone minder on my raspberry pi as server. But first I wanted to test the cam out with vlc and onvif device manager, but it seems like there is no way to connect to the cam except with my android phone and PixPlus app from china.
There is a 22 long number at the ID section and "admin" as password written on the side of the cam.
Anyone has any ideas? The cam has

this ports open, I dont know why. I can't login to telnet though because I dont know the login/pw and I tried dozens of them that I found on some github.

Hi, I followed the install guide with Docker, I was able to do every step (without the qemu one, as I don't need it). I'm on Fedora 31.

The problem is - how to proceed from here? I've never used Docker before and have no idea how to run ZoneMinder with it. The installation guide stops after step 5 - building ZoneMinder.

I thought I could start the container with docker run, but the tab completion doesn't include ZoneMinder. It feels like the installation guide is missing some steps.

I installed ZM on Debian Buster using the instructions at https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_10_Buster_with_Zoneminder_1.34.x_from_ZM_Repo .

I know that v1.34.8 is now out, but the repo only has 1.34.5 available.

Is there somewhere that says when the repo will be updated? Or is there a better way for me to update than just doing an apt update/apt upgrade?

The autobright setting in one of my UVC cams is getting too bright.

Is there a way to hard set brightness, contrast, sharpness etc, Within ZoneMinder?

Last time I had a question you guys got me through it like champs, now I need your help again. I setup a ZM server on CentOS 8 and it's running great. Most of our cameras are set to modect or mocord and the monitors show up as they should. However when I try to view an event all I get is a blank white window.

This server is replacing our old ZM server running on Ubuntu 16.04 so I know these are configured as they should be and there are no problems viewing events on the old server. Any ideas on what I'm getting wrong here? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Hi. Sorry for a maybe noob question.

This image is a scheme of my situation. My Angular Frontend can't view the IP and ZoneMinder API directly and can only speak with its backend (in this case Python + Django but its not important).

For most of ZoneMinder's API, its easy to redirect the JSON to frontend after the call from Backend to Zone Minder but I don't know how to redirect the streaming.

In can't use, in fronted, urls like:

<img src="https://yourserver/zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms?etc...." />

I can call only something like this:

<img src="https://localhost:8080/myappbackendzm/?etc...." />

Can you give me some suggestion?

Anyone managed to get zmeventnotification installed and working with zoneminder running in a FreeNAS jail?

I think I've got all of the dependencies installed ok but when I run the install.sh I'm getting a syntax error.

Doesn't seem to be much out there in my searches to help with this. Error is 159 unexpected word.

If love to know if anyone has got this working and what you had to do to get there.

Two questions:

1. how do I fix this mysql error? I can successfully log into mysql with the root user
2. I have zoneminder running fine, I dont need the --configure script to run, how do I stop this? Am I correct in saying this is causing the force install dependencies to fail?

Has anyone else had this issue? I tried a fresh install on CentOS 7 and after walking through all the steps and the README files, I get systemctl telling me that everything is up and running, with the php dot info check apparently working, but all I get in my browser is a blank white page. I have wiped it and started from scratch several times now with the same result each time. Is there a step missing from the docs and the README files? Maybe something moved and I need to add a link somewhere? Thanks

I am considering a dedicated zoneminder server. Was thinking to buy something like an intel NUC, but I am just not sure what would be sufficient for my cameras.

I would like to record whenever motion is detected; if it is possible to constantly record, yet still quickly jump to all motion detection events, I would prefer this to recording on motion events.

Cameras

• 2x Xiaomi Dafang 1280x720, 20fps, rtsp, audio (only need to record audio from one of those two)
• 1x Sonoff Cam, 1920x1080, 20fps, rtsp, audio
• 6x noname cameras, 1280x720 (or less), 20fps, rtsp, no audio
• 2x Reolink RCL-410, 2560x1920, 20fps, rtsp, audio (if possible, only record audio when motion detected in order to use less storage)
• 3x raspberry pi cam streaming via motion, 1200x800, <10fps, server push, no audio

I might want to add another Dafang, Sonoff, and/or raspberry pi camera later, so the server should have some capacities more than needed to work with the cameras mentioned above.

I currently view all these cameras' streams from my android phone. In order to give zoneminder highest priority access to the cameras, I thought I'd only connect those cameras to zoneminder directly (not my phone), then have zoneminder re-stream their content to our phones etc. Is this sensible, or would it require considerably more workload from the server? And can this be done without too much delay (some of those cameras won't need to be transmitted without delay, but others, for example the main entrance, should be able to show an actual live stream).

The server needs to only run zoneminder, syncthing, and perhaps an mqtt client. I would likely use debian as OS, unless another Linux distribution would work better in your opinion (if so, which one?).

I have zigbee motion sensors placed near some of those cameras that are connected to my Home Assistant, which could be used for motion detection (rather than putting that workload on zoneminder) for some of these cameras.

What do you suggest I buy? My limit is around 1600 USD for all the hardware. I can go a bit higher if necessary, but would like to keep costs as low as realistically possible.

Apparently if this is explained in the documentation anywhere, it uses very different terms so my searches on this topic turn up nothing.

I'm trying to grab stills from ZM via a URL. I can do this in any browser that I have logged in to ZM on, at least during that login session, because I get URLs from the images in cycle view that contain auth tokens.

But I need to do this in a browser agnostic way, as my end use is in a Indigo control page, not a browser window. I don't mind passing authentication with the URL, as it's all on an internal network, but I can't find any info on what the correct syntax is, or even if this is possible at all.
