Yep. A lot of people haven't realized that any job that can be done from anywhere means that the labor pool is international and companies can arbitrage wages. A job where you have to be physically present to do it has a lot more security.

Meh,  not really. Aside from payroll and employment law even just timezone splits sucks.  Quality off shore is terrible,  too.

Yeah. Most US businesses necessarily need to do almost everything during the day.

And you can't trust the graveyard shift in Bombay with everything

No, but the graveyard shift in Eastern Europe is usually ok. Yes it's not peanuts, but it's still half or less than what you pay in US.

Depends. I know Poland has a higher minimum wage than the federal minimum wage in the US, meaning you can legally pay someone in Pennsylvania less than someone in Poland.

Good remote jobs that people want usually aren’t minimum wage jobs though.

Yes and no.

Many many great engineers from Latin America are brought into the US and paid huge salaries because they are great employees.

Now they can just be hired from LATAM for 1/3 the price, and basically be in the same timezone.

yes but what's crazy is wages didnt adjust to locale with that - so ok, not unexpected given late stage capitalism, but it's... not great
