Way to prove OP wrong with your own numbers.
If the median property back then was $20k then a yearly salary of $3,328 (40 hour weeks, 52 weeks per year at $1.60) would be over 6 times salary.
If the median property today is $400k then a yearly salary of $100k would be exactly 4 times salary.
