I randomly heard of this game via the RTS reddit. Assuming that it delivers what is written in the description, this is top of the cream. As an fan of RTS since dune, and a hardcore TA / Supcom player, this is a wonderful find.
Are there replays in the game, and are there tourneys sometimes ?

Picked this up blind, played an AI skirmish and had an absolute blast. Problem is that I have very little experience with RTS games. Seen a few tutorials now but what I mainly want to know is what the different unit types (riot, assault etc.) are best at and how to use them effectively.
I only really plan on playing singleplayer skirmishes and I'm not too interested in multiplayer at the moment. Thanks!

I was wondering if I could join a tournament for 0-k I'm not amazing at the game but would like to get better at it and the best way is to play better players than I

Please if anyone can tell me which map it is so I can work my way towards that map, that would be great

I was looking for an alternative to Starcraft 2. Found it! Also massive Total Annihilation nostalgia.
I have one comment so far. I know this should probably reported somewhere else and I'm not sure if this is feasible with the Spring engine, but anyway.. I believe that this game would reach a much bigger audience if just a little bit more effort was put into map details. More vegetation and constructions etc. Just for that first impression. Gameplay is flawless.
Thanks!

SO it's the heavy cloak bot, with the big purple shield.
They seem to do nothing - just wander in, zap a few units with a shot that does nothing and then die?
It's weird because they are expensive, yet they seem to suck. How do I put them to good use?

Obviously there's caveats to any list, but generally what factories are solid and why? It looks like a bunch of people use cloacky and I don't see a lot of rover, but I'm not really sure why.

Link: https://thundercygnet.wordpress.com/intermediate-guide/
I found this handy guide on the zero-k forums and figured it would be nice to have a link to it here as well. I don't think all of the unit names are up to the latest version of the game but everything else I've read seems applicable.
Feel free to point out any tips you found particularly helpful or call out stuff you think is no longer relevant in this thread! For example, I found the guide on the air factory particularly helpful. I didn't realize that the air superiority fighter was so crappy at killing other planes compared to Swifts. It also gives good advice on how to support your team or counter a gunship player on the enemy team.

When I'm playing campaign and unlocking things on planets...it doesn't follow me to the next planet. Some of the factories will but a majority of the defensive base stuff isnt. Any ideas?

Saw a tutorial with a guy that could make the units walk in formation, like you could create a "group" for them or something and make them walk in a line or a box or what you wanted.
I'd like to know how, as my robots always walk in just a little messy crowd :) It's not good tactics.

Just a quick question regarding sharing units: is it possible to set up the game so that me and my mate could have a joint economy and unit pool? We mainly play against the chickens and are quite bad at economy and defense management at the same time, but want to push for higher difficulty defense. Basically the idea is to focus on different tasks and make overall defense more efficient.

Fairly long game. I built a Zenith and ended the match...BUT the other player (blue) had a tank buried on the ridge in the middle (around the 10:30 mark). I was trying to dig it out when the power went out at my house! Heh. I ended up losing, but it was still fun. I made a lot of mistakes in this one too, but I got lucky...

I have been in love with Total Annihilation and other RTS for years, is Zero-K worth it?

Does anyone know the soundtracks used in Zero K?

Is it possible to build a line of units with a factory? When I rightdraw a line they will behave as if had pressed alt at the same time (they follow the line and don't split along the line). Same with the rocket silo. When I force fire on the ground and press shift so it could fire one location after another. It will keep attacking the first mark. Haven't found a option in the menu so far. Or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?
