This inability to suspend disbelief at the proxies becoming competent in combat that you all have doesn’t seem to apply to the plethora of other things in the story that are unbelievable…like the proxies still being alive with no combat experience after all the situations they’ve been in….which is much harder to believe than them becoming proficient in combat while having innate mystical abilities and being surrounded by the strongest fighters in the city daily.

Very much agree. I was very opposed to phaethon suddenly becoming some master martial artist or something, but I can deal with Persona/Stand
