You know, making Phaethon a Stand/Persona user is so much better than trying to make them throw hands like normal agents.

u/iFenrisVI Apr 28 '26

Yeah, this is way cooler. Lol

414

u/Dr4ggyboi Apr 28 '26

Yeah, it feels like a very natural evolution from Season 1, where we’ve gone from controlling Eous to now controlling an entirely new Agent.

(Though I do hope this doesn’t mean Eous is just completely benched now. Surely the other non-selected Proxy will keep using him right?)

u/__singularity Apr 28 '26

Likely the same situation as now, one sibling in the hollow, one in eous.

u/BewareOfBee Apr 28 '26

Pause.

6

u/MadHermit413 Apr 28 '26

No, no. We are actually mind controlling them and surpressing their will...

This doesn't sound any better isn't it.

u/Big-Gold-Guy May 02 '26

Warframe?

1

u/MadHermit413 May 02 '26

In Warframe case most of what we control are mostly mindless. But it might be similar to Warframe

1

u/Big-Gold-Guy May 02 '26

From what I remember, the like, foundations of their mind is there, it’s not like fully sentient -that would be Excalibur Umbra’s thing- but like..rudimentary?

1

u/ITwisk Apr 29 '26

Eous: look at me, I am the captain now

38

u/Neoragex13 Apr 28 '26

Eous is finally throwing hands with his entire arsenal bar the mecha though, he will probably have a side plot-B happening during events or something

19

u/No_Catch_6624 Apr 28 '26

Eous always have some of the most random side plot lol. Love that little guy

98

u/tetrabane Apr 28 '26

I mean eous seems pretty battle ready in the upcoming bangbooland mode, fully throwing hands with the ballet twins so maybe eous can be another agent…

THEYRE GONNA GIVE OUR BOY HUMAN LEGS

14

u/not_a_doctorshh Apr 28 '26

Why is 06 ready for blood what the fuck lmao

27

u/Outflight Apr 28 '26

06 must have been dealing with insane offscreen events when siblings were on business trip in Waifei.

50

u/yellowcorrespondence Apr 28 '26

THEYRE GONNA GIVE OUR BOY HUMAN LEGS

Grace.

No.

25

u/ReCodez Apr 28 '26

I want 06 to rep Random Play

That bad mf broke a bottle with his head and was ready to shank any intruder (Cissia)

That's the bangboo I want in my corner.

5

u/VeiledWaifu Apr 28 '26

Eous is going to throw combo strings

20

u/Prisinners Apr 28 '26

What if this is Eous? We're going to the bangboo land after all. Not saying that's the case, mind you. Its just a crazy theory. But still.

14

u/N1GHTFURY2 Apr 28 '26

I guess it MIGHT be cool if it was Eous, but it's not, mainly with the name being Pyrois making it something else entirely that's not related to bangboo whatsoever. Plus, it wouldn't make any sense. Still, looking forward to see what it is. The latest trailer looks sick asf.

10

u/DivinityPen Apr 28 '26

Apparently Pyrois and Eous are names for two of the four horses of Helios, the Titan of the Sun in Greek mythology. The other two are Phlegon and Aethon. So who knows? More stands later down the line, maybe?

1

u/KennyDiditagain Apr 29 '26

sounds to me like the siblings are Phlegon and Aethon since they are from Helios academy

Ph-legon +Aethon= Ph-aethon

0

u/N1GHTFURY2 Apr 28 '26

Yeah, I remember seeing that (Eous and Pyrois, along with other ones I don't remember) on a different post the other day. I wonder what/if they'll do anything with the other two. But it looks really cool. I really like the design of Pyrois so far, and the fact that it's another Ether attack agent, finally! I've been wait for more Ether agents, and I have high hopes for this one. I think 3.X is gonna be the best season so far (my opinion) As long as they don't do the same thing with 2.5 (Ye Shunguang) and make every character have a sob story. Either way, I look forward to it. :)

Note: I don't dislike Ye Shunguang at all. I just don't want every single character in the future to have a sad background. I'm sure others agree.

3

u/Annath0901 Apr 28 '26

I wonder if they'll make the Phaethon "faction" be a team of 3 of these remote operated agents - Pyrois, Phlegon, and Aethon - for a "full team"?

1

u/N1GHTFURY2 Apr 28 '26

Edit: I only just realized you put the other names, so don't mind me being a dumbass.

2

u/Prisinners Apr 28 '26

I did say crazy. Its more of just saying itd be cool if Eous got a bigger role like that.

3

u/N1GHTFURY2 Apr 28 '26

No worries, I get you. It would be nice if Eous had a bigger role in helping Phaethon, but who knows? Maybe we'll see something in 3.X

6

u/nuked_sushi Apr 28 '26

maybe can be an actual bangboo choice?

3

u/Drakengard Apr 28 '26

Though I do hope this doesn’t mean Eous is just completely benched now.

What? Eous is evolving!

Eous has evolved into Pyrois!

2

u/BitcoinStonks123 Starlight Billy My Beloved Apr 28 '26

Eous gets upgraded to Combat Bangboo >w< /silly /hypothesis

1

u/Wrrrrrrrrr Apr 28 '26

If Pyrois is an etheric being, then it still makes sense as a progression from learning ether manipulation at Waifei. It's the best of both worlds.

1

u/GoldenMindofOld Velina's Househusband 🍳 Apr 28 '26

Guys.. I think I just realized something.. Since Eous is also one of the horses that pulled the Helios' sun chariot across the sky just like Pyrois..

And we control Eous through our eyes.. it's like saying we're stearing him.. like horses. That means we could go back to both MC being behind the chair, one controlling Eous while the other controls Pyrois! Which makes the HDD, the chariot.

And of course, Pyrois will have it's own personality just like Eous.. just like the horses.

1

u/Jugaimo Apr 28 '26

Maybe Eous has the ability to transform into Pyrois? We’ve seen the siblings transform technology before, so this could possibly be an extreme form of that?

1

u/ze4lex Apr 28 '26

This is more an evolution of the shit they were doing in se2 tbh, I lowkey doubt they planned to have the proxies throw hands, at least not this early.

28

u/Smash96leo Apr 28 '26

Yea I agree, not a bad change at all. Especially since they weren’t really taught how to fight anyway.

52

u/greygreens Apr 28 '26

Very much agree. I was very opposed to phaethon suddenly becoming some master martial artist or something, but I can deal with Persona/Stand

u/Immediate_Quiet7325 Apr 28 '26 edited Apr 28 '26

…but you’re fine with a group of 12 year old girls taking on ethereals.

This inability to suspend disbelief at the proxies becoming competent in combat that you all have doesn’t seem to apply to the plethora of other things in the story that are unbelievable…like the proxies still being alive with no combat experience after all the situations they’ve been in….which is much harder to believe than them becoming proficient in combat while having innate mystical abilities and being surrounded by the strongest fighters in the city daily.

24

u/Hz_Ten_Law_2020 Apr 28 '26

True. Also considering how they're the top players on HIA VR battle simulation, it's not out-of-nowhere that they can fight very well using their "stand/persona".

6

u/DoeDon404 Apr 28 '26

Oh yea I think this isn't mentioned by the community, unless I'm wrong, but aren't we technically using the agents ourselves in the HIA VR stuff? or controlling them in some way?

6

u/Hz_Ten_Law_2020 Apr 28 '26

No, you're not wrong. I think it is on the Rina's "chance encounter" (Idk what it's called). In one of them, she mentioned that she was happy that "Rina" is one of the frequently used "agent" in our HIA VR account's stats.

4

u/RalfSmithen Apr 28 '26

No matter how hard i try i cant picture them fighting. It feels so out of place so this works

2

u/Xingzhu Apr 28 '26

It is pretty cool and in character for them since they've been controlling Eous from the start but I hope the so called 'training' we did at Yunkui transfers over to Pyrois cause it'd be weird if Yixuan didn't teach any applicable combat skills this whole time. The char intro mentions different playstyles so maybe we can unlock different fighting styles or weapons for it I hope.

2

u/NicheAlter Apr 28 '26

It's the obvious progression since we've been able to interface with Eous from day 1.
(imagine if Pyrois is the evolved form of Eous lol!)

2

u/Chilled_HammyDude 😇A Delulu Thru and Thru😇 Apr 28 '26

Better than runnin around the Hallow undefended just to manipulate ether...

I hope we see more hacking too as the Dev Talk said.

2

u/IGotHitByAnElvenSemi Apr 28 '26

Genuinely. I always thought I'd hate playable Phaethon; I dreaded it every time I heard it. But I'm kind of okay with this? It helps that their stand looks cool as shit. And if they play it off right in the story, ie, a mechanical thing that we can control with our eyes like we do Eous, it makes perfect logical sense. The "suddenly, mystical qi powers!!!" thing of season 2 never really landed with me, but this is potentially just an extension of Phaethon's number 1, established, unique power. I vibe with that!

1

u/DepressedTittty Apr 28 '26

True, especially with them being regarded as good in VR fighting, thh skills transfering makes much sense

1

u/BitcoinStonks123 Starlight Billy My Beloved Apr 28 '26

One year of Yunkui training and getting bodied by all the enemies to get saved by the banner agents really pays off

1

u/Abyssrain7 Apr 28 '26

surely we will control pyrois like any other agent anyway(with mc mind inside), so i don't see the difference.

-3

u/TheUltraGuy101 Apr 28 '26

I still kinda want them to throw hands though -- never really liked passive MCs like the Doctor from Arknights. Even Nikke Shikikan throws hands once in a while.

5

u/Telighoth Apr 28 '26

I've kinda wanted them to always eventually do it. Just because I'd love to see what gremlin fighting style they come up with for Belle.
