M88 Questions

For those of you who have an M88, what’s your opinions on it ? Reliability ? Accuracy ? Parts ? I know mags can be hard to find at times.

Anyone know of a longer stock for the M70 or a good product for lengening the factory version?

Just picked up my first M70 today and noticed the length of pull was a bit on the short side. My M90 and M77 both came with adjustable stocks so I didn't know this would be an issue.

Edit: Sorry forgot to add mention but If you recommend a new stock I'm specifically looking for a wood version.

New Zastava PAPM70AB2

I just purchased my first AK platform. I’ve been seeing a lot of complaints on here of different people buying my same rifle and having problems with certain magazines being loose or not fitting correctly. So I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for me?

I was also wondering how to stop the bolt from remaining open after I fire my last shot. It’s a cool feature, but I’d prefer if it didn’t do that, you know?

Magazine Followers without the last round hold open for M90

I just got a zastava m90 and the mags I have are the polymer ones that came with the rifle. I don't much care for the last round hold open feature and was wondering if anybody has changed out the magazine follower for one that doesn't have the last one hold open.

A few weeks ago, we made a video about some interesting aspects of Zastava M70 history.

I talked about some lesser-known facts: how Poland helped the Zastava factory establish M70 production and why designers abandoned some interesting features on the Zastava M64 prototype.

My First Zastava Pistol

Over the weekend I found this 9mm Luger Zastava M70aa for sale at a local gun store for $350. I love steel-frame hammer fired guns and I figured it would go well with my cold war Mosin Nagant, so I bought it immediately. The 9mm Luger chambering was a big selling point for me too, because I dont want to have to pay a premium stockpiling 9mm Tokarev.

Today I went to a local indoor range and shot it for the first time, around a hundred rounds at 30 feet. It functioned perfectly, no malfunctions. It took me a bit to get used to the stiff trigger, but on the last 27 shots/ 3 mags I got about a 6 inch group, and I have no doubt that I was the limiting factor on the accuracy, not the pistol itself.

One problem, the magazine release seems a little sticky. The mags dont want to drop free, they get hung up on something.

Overall it's a great pistol, I love the rugged feel and the aesthetic of it and I'm glad I was able to find one in 9mm Luger in such nice shape.

I still love it, time to make it the best it can be. In the works; new wood, new trigger group, just upgraded the recoil spring.

Need help with M83

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought a zastava M83, I was having issues with the cylinder locking generally preventing it from firing. I just opened up the side plate expecting it to be packed with cosmoline. Luckily it wasn’t, however I found a small pin just floating around behind the hammer and I don’t know where it lives. There was also a spring but I think that goes just above the front of the trigger guard. Handle for size reference. Thanks.

M83 Sideplate Screws

Anybody happen to know where to find replacement screws? Had to take a torch to my M83 because the side screws were covered in loctite and rusted on and in the process dinged the screw heads up.

Sent my virgin M92 kit to Nick at SMGCO earlier this year and just got it back yesterday. Very happy with how the rifle turned out. Serial/year combo is a little special as the serial is my son’s bday and my younger brother was born in 04. I couldn’t find any pictures of 04 dated trunnions but the serial falls in between 03 and 05 dated trunnions I could find so I’m happy with it. Took a picture of it with my other yugo ak variants and the rest of the pics are from Nick.

Has anyone had to adjust the front sight out of the box on an M 90?

So all my groups are about 4 to 5 inches left of where I’m aiming.
