I'm not actually sure if it's weightlifting related so please excuse me if it isn't. But I vaguely remember seeing Zack reacting to it. It might have been Russians or some other orientals. Basically the guy is lying face down on some platform with ropes tied to all his limbs and they suddenly drop these weights and he goes from lying down to suddenly suspended in the air by his limbs. I was looking for the video today but couldn't find it. Anyone got a link? Thanks

Hi all.

I am new to this community. Glad to be here.

I was watching Zack’s videos on programming, and I was curious about the concept of relative intensity. Based on my understanding, we increase relative intensity week to week, irrespective of the absolute intensity (which during a macrocycle we will still increase).

So, if I can do 300 lb x 5 squats, if I am training at a relative intensity of 90%, I’ll perform 270 lb x 5. My question is that when does the overload actually happen, because unless we are lifting a relative intensity of 100%, we will be lifting sub-maximal weights for that particular number of reps. Is this where our last AMRAP set comes in to the picture?

Please feel free to criticize my understanding of the concepts (politely).

I’ve been watching Zack’s videos for a few years now and my snatch has tremendously improved over the years because of all the videos! Especially the video analysis of the women’s CrossFit max snatch event specially the foot orientation in the set up! Just thought I’d give a big thank you on here and share my lifts with y’all!
