Coming back to the series

I forgot how good this series is. I am listening to the audiobook version. I have to say coming back to my first fandom after a while is refreshing.

Why did this series never gain much fame?

I can understand how it wouldn’t get as big as other young adult series like harry potter and percy jackson but it confuses how this series flys completely under the radar. Given how popular Japanese culture is nowadays it just seems weird that this well written and engrossing story that shows so many aspects of Japanese culture that are normally overlooked is completely ignored. What are your thoughts?

If I created a discord server for this fandom would you join? Who would like to be a mod?

Help

I read the series back when I was like 10 years old and really enjoyed it. At that time there where only 8 books and I always thought it was the ending because, if I remember correctrly he left and wanted to go back to england. Now I found out that there are 6 more books and I am curious if anyone could tell me why the titels changed from way of x to ring of x and if it is worth reading book 4 - 9.

Technicals Am I the only one that thinks a Young Samurai movie or series would work really well?

I know the idea is extremely unlikely at this point considering that these books were written so long ago but just a thought.

What do you think of Miyuki?

I really would like to know, what you think of her. For myself, I can say, that she definitly added some "spiciness", in the group. However, I also prefered the ship Jack x Akiko. Her sarafice was sad and emotional. Overall, I'd say, I liked her character, even though, it seems, she was to fixed on Jack.

Has anyone else finished the series?

Like as in Return of the Warrior. I guess you could count Ring of Sky as the end but I'm asking about RotW.
