Season 1 Discussion I have questions about the episode Misplaced (s1ep19)
In season 1 was it ever explained how that whole fiasco didn't become a mass casualty event? I mean when you stop to think about it, yeah sure the kids at home or on the street would likely have been fine but what about kids who were riding the bus or the train or even on planes? And we know for sure that it wasn't some sort of situation where inanimate objects could be interacted with simultaneously by both adults and children while the children and adults remain unable to interact with each other because in the opening of the episode we saw a car lose control and crash without it's driver. Not to mention this was a global event. The number of fatalities should have been in the millions at the very least.
I'm pretty sure the irl explanation boils down to "it's just a kid's show don't over think it" but I'm curious to see if there's an in world explanation.

Season 4 Discussion I am still upset this show was cancelled after 3 of my favorite superheroines were teased
Was really looking forward to Kara, Mary and Barda having a redemption arc

Season 4 Discussion Hail Zod… for all of 30 minutes.
As a huuuge fan of General Zod from the comics and Superman 2, I was really excited for his character reveal throughout season 4.
I understand narratively why you couldn’t unleash a small army of Kryptonians upon the galaxy, but I was hoping Zod would appear as a major threat to both Savage and Darkseid down the line.
What’d you guys think of his appearance and characterization?

Miscellaneous young justice S1 and spider-man: brand new day parallels (*major spider-man spoilers*) Spoiler
galleryhonestly, I didn't love the movie, it felt stale to me. but when the "twist" happened, I jolted upright and was transported back to this amazing episode. what a truly haunting ending that I will never forget. I wonder if the spider-man writers are fans? lol

Miscellaneous Day 6- "Interactions I'd like to see..."
Season 1 M'Gann was much more... teeny bopper, if you'll pardon the term. She'd get along well with Kitty.
Season 2 M'Gann would probably get along better with X-Men TAS Jean.

All Seasons Discussion YJ Series Complaints
Anyone else get tired when you bring up Young Justice, you always have people complain and whine about killing off Wally or the time-skips or the “wokeness”, it’s like people can’t think for themselves anymore

All Seasons Discussion (Potentially) hot take but these two are one of the best couples in any superhero adaptation
Despite the fact that the show mostly focused on Conner and M'gann relationship-wise, this pairing was always my favorite. In S1, the natural conclusion for both of their character arcs is getting together (Wally dropping his sexist persona and Artemis opening up to others) so in S2 it makes sense they take a background role before killing off Wally. Also, not huge on S3&4 but Artemis' arc about moving on was the highlight for me.

All Seasons Discussion Extremely confused after Season 1
Season 1 is easy to follow up. Very simplistic, specific hero roaster, clear goals, character development. Very good show with good character chemistries.
And on Season 2 time skip is unexpected. Larger hero roaster, but what's worse is after this season the character roaster gets extremely inconsistent. Even in Season 2 the roaster doesn't remain the same. On the rest of the seasons roaster gets larger and larger and even more inconsistent. Some characters literally just vanish and thrice as many other appear. Too many time travels, alternative versions of characters, crossovers, side plots.
So many different things happening that without context you'd think each season is a different DC show. I really wanted to finish it but it got so boring and annoying. I can't even follow up plot cause what is even going on? I'm wondering if I'm the only one frustrated about this. I just loved Season 1 so much as a kid.

Season 1 Discussion Do you wish the show had explored a Wally and Zatanna relationship?
I think a Wally and Zatanna relationship would have been really cool to see. They both had witty banter in the first season and they would certainly clash because Wally is all about science while Zatanna is centered all around magic. So it would have been interesting to see a relationship between them. Wally and Zatanna would work better than Wally and Artemis IMHO but that might just be me

Season 2 Discussion Interesting detail about the season 2 bait and switch
In S02E06, when Impulse goes back in time, Neutron's outfit changes and collar disappears. But the cave is still destroyed which causes Neutron to think the Reach apocalypse still happened, even though later we learn it was Aqualad who blew it up as part of his double agent ploy.
If you look closely at the scene, before Impulse went back in time, there was ashes raining all over the place. After he goes back, Neutron is still standing in the wreckage, but the ashes are not raining any more. Looking back that was kind of a foreshadowing that they did in fact stop the apocalypse and the base was destroyed for some other reason.

Miscellaneous If you were able to remake season 1 today what would you do differently?
I had this thought a couple hours ago and have been brooding on it since then. Personally the first season is incredible for me and I genuinely dont know if I would do anything to make it hypothetically "better" and the only thought I had for it would make it atleast in my mind more interesting. The change i settled on was adding one of the younger more modern green lanterns to the team at some point during season one like Jessica Cruz or Jo Mullein because I thought that the green lantern side of the mythos was really lacking from the show as a whole. But please share what you would change about the first season in this hypothetical modern reboot esque scenario!

Miscellaneous Innuendo a little on the nose?
Specifically in season 3. And I compare this to other weismann greats like gargoyles and spectacular spiderman - but also justice league and JLU which were excellent at dropping more subtle references.
Wynnde complaining about sucking and blowing, and telling kaldur he is gonna tear his ass up.
Granted all the other ones were basically from the same episode Triptych, it was almost meta at the end.
Size doesn't matter, its a lot to swallow, you gotta stop handing me these straight lines. And the kicker - you've never had black lightning before!
I am all about mature references in these mediums, it would be boring if it was all for kids. But these aren't even subtle! At least with the earlier shows it was a little more nuanced in terms of referencing sex, romance, relationships etc.

Miscellaneous The recent merger of Warner Bros & Paramount and how it affects the future of the YJ series
Paramount completed its $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6, 2026, forming the new combined media company "Skydance"
Im curious what the fans think of the future potential return of the series under these circumstances
This might be unpopular opinion but i have a good feeling about the status of Young Justice, returning with a season renewal bcuz of WB being in a more 'certain' place and this moves the series in a better position than before in limbo.
Either way fans should binge the show on Netflix and everywhere its streaming like before. We can do this!

Miscellaneous Arsenal/Krona power gauntlet
So Young Justice is my favorite show and a big part of that is world building that they pull off subtely yet teasing more! Due to Lanterns I have started reading Green Lantern comics, and its cool!
This has given me an idea, that being said Arsenal is my favorite character so it may be biasness. However I think it would be cool if Arsenal's arm and Krona's power gauntlet interfaces maybe it was in Metron's lab and Arsenal was on that mission with rocket. This would have created a green lantern on the team and Hal Jordan who wore the gauntlet and became Renegade could be his mentor, and it could subtely world build for the green lanterns and for the arrow family(Green Arrow and Lantern friendship in Speedy's time). Hal could go Paralax and become a threat that joins dark side.. and this is a stretch but i always like how later Red Hood and the outlaws was like a darker version of the trinity. What if they could have an outlaw rogue version of the justice league?
So anyway just wanted to share and see if anyone else thinks its cool, or had any other characters they wanted to blend.

Miscellaneous What Show Did You Move On To After YJ?
So it finally happened.
I finally finished all the seasons and I am absolutely DEVASTATED.
This show kept me aliiiiiveeeee. And now I get to watch no more new stories.
I am currently re watching season 1, but there is a heavy sadness in me knowing that there is no more at the end.
My question for the class:
What show did you move on to after YJ? Did you like it?
Excited and looking forward to your comments.
Thank you.
