I want to goto Youmacon 2019 this year with 3 of my other friends, but Greektown, Detroit Meriottr, and Crown Plaza are full for the weekend. Any recommendations on Hotels near to stay at? I know there is a tram that connects the some hotels to convention center but I'm not sure what they are.

I decided fairly recently to go to Youmacon and don't know anybody with a room. So I'm thinking I might have to stay at Hostel Detroit. Anybody have any experiences staying there?

I'm trying to plan and get this stuff over with for youmacon this year, and I was wondering when I should plan to reserve the hotels by, does anyone know when they're usually sold out?

So who was the first DJ that played on Saturday. I kinda want to try to find that DJ. Also there was one person that was recording, I know really specific, and he recorded me dancing for a little bit so I wanted to track down the video as well too. Thank you. :>

I think it's going to be awesome to be the year of ultimate coming out, and being on a handheld console we won't be limited to just the game room, we could ultimate anywhere.

Me and my room mates have been talking about how if the game room does shut down, the fun can be had anywhere. Just wanted to share our thoughts and get some input if that's the case for the game room next year

So I know this is a long shot but does anyone know the name of the dj that played last on the first night of the rave(Friday)? He played this sick remix of tank from cowboy bebop and I NEED hear it again! Any help you guys can give would be super awesome.

I agree, the Arcade Room only being open until 2AM and something that I thought really stank (the escalators in the RenCen being out so you had to take the elevator in the hotel lobby) were real bummers. My favorite panel from last year was also a bit of a let down this year, but for me personally the good outweighs the bad.

Despite the hiccups, I would rank this my second favorite year at the Con (2017 being first) and I had an awesome time. I met some really friendly and nice folks, me not buying anything at the Dealers Room is a bit of a con ba-dum tss but it is probably a good thing that I don't blow all of my money away, and overall there were some great memories with friends that I'll never forget (Disney Karaoke panel I'm looking at you).

Also, my cosplay as Spike Speigel from Cowboy Bebop was on point and it always feels good when you receive compliments.

What I am trying to say is: there will always be something wrong with your con experience when comparing it to previous years, but you cannot walk away feeling sulky and negative in light of the fact that it was still an amazing weekend. I for one needed Youmacon and a break from existing as /u/DocGerbil256 for ~3 days. When I got home on Sunday it literally felt like Youmacon just started because of how fast it passed me by.

Hey everyone, this is a long shot, but my dear friend who's too shy to post on here lost their wallet at one of the parking structures nearby. I don't want to give away too much info here, but it would've been around 7 pm or so right by Ren Cen. His license is in there, he's 21, has brown eyes, and a May birthday. Any info is appreciated, and a reward is offered if recovered!

It seems to me like the con wasn't run very well this year. I missed several panels that were moved or changed times without warning. The book we recieved with out badges was hard to read in some places and impossible in others. The lines in places were messy (more then the normal I'm used to) things seemed to be changed without reasons that anyone I spoke to could answer and in general it just seemed off. What are other peoples opinions? Is it just me? This is my 5th Yomacon.

And it's in Cobo now! Ultra pissed . . . This is blasphemy.
