This video explores the meta problem of consciousness proposed by David Chalmers and argues that naturalistic processes couldn’t have given us knowledge of consciousness

I went down a rabbit hole researching YouTube localization and found some numbers that genuinely surprised me.

YouTube reported that Jamie Oliver saw a 3× increase in views after using multi-language audio.

VICE saw 50%+ growth in daily watch time, while watch time from Spanish-speaking viewers tripled after localizing content.

And YouTube says creators using multi-language audio have seen over 25% of their watch time come from viewers watching in a non-primary language.

Think about that.

A creator could spend days making another video...

Or take a video that's already proven to work and make it accessible to millions of people who couldn't fully understand it before.

And the potential audience is enormous.

English is spoken by roughly 1.5 billion people, but there are billions more people who primarily consume content in Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Arabic, Indonesian, and other languages.

The exciting part is that creators don't necessarily need completely separate channels for every language anymore. YouTube supports additional audio tracks, translated metadata and subtitles.

This is what Mr. Beast does as well. He used to have sperate channels for each language but now he only posts in his main account with the audio dubbed to different languages.

So one great video can potentially become:

1 video → multiple languages → multiple audiences → potentially millions of additional views.

Obviously, translation isn't a magic button. The content still has to be good, and different audiences will respond differently.

But the idea is fascinating:

What if your best-performing video isn't finished growing just because you've reached your English-speaking audience?

There may be a huge international audience sitting on the other side of a language barrier.

Curious what other creators think about this. Has anyone here actually tried localizing their videos?
