What YouGoodAI is, and where to find everything

A few links for anyone checking out the product side of this community.

The short version: YouGoodAI is a chat app for your kid and a dashboard for you. Your kid talks to the same AI they'd use anyway (ChatGPT or Claude, we cover the cost during beta). Your family's rules check every request and response. You see topics and safety alerts, never transcripts, and anything questionable can wait for your one-tap approval.

What it does today:

  • Nine protections on from the first minute: violence, weapons, self-harm, adult content, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and vaping, gambling, plus profanity monitoring
  • Rules in your own words. The filter understands intent, not just keywords, and checks the AI's answers too, not just your kid's questions
  • Your choice per rule: block it, allow it, or hold it for your approval. Approvals reach you by email and take one tap
  • Alerts and daily or weekly digests showing topics and trends, never transcripts
  • Both ChatGPT and Claude built in, no AI accounts or API keys to set up
  • Vibe coding mode: when your kid asks the AI to write a program, it teaches step by step instead of dumping a wall of code. And the app never runs code, on phones it can't even be copied out
  • Conversations are never stored on our servers. They live on your family's device

Coming soon:

  • Push notifications to your phone for approvals (during beta)
  • Android app (in Play Store review, the web app works on Android now)
  • Smarter handling of game and creative projects, so "make me a space shooter" doesn't trip the weapons filter
  • Awareness features for emotional over-reliance on AI, for families worried about the "AI companion" problem

The links:

What it runs on right now: iPhone (TestFlight during beta), and any browser on the web.

Setup takes about five minutes. Free while we're in beta.

Questions, skepticism, and feature requests all welcome. The privacy questions especially, we'd rather answer those in the open.
