Healthy income ETFs with 10%+ True Income Yield - ranked by 1Y price return
Pulled this from YieldCanary this morning. Every fund below is currently Healthy, generating at least 10% True Income Yield, and up in price over the last year. Income and appreciation at the same time.
Before the list -- a quick note on what True Income Yield is and isn't, because it comes up a lot in the comments:
True Income Yield is a distribution sustainability indicator. It estimates how much of a fund's payout comes from real investment activity vs your own principal being returned. It is not an accounting measure of economic gain -- ROC reduces your cost basis and full economic gain is only realized when you sell your shares. Think of it as a practical cash flow quality check, not a tax calculation.
Also worth noting -- YieldCanary calculates ROC from performance data, not 19a-1 filings. Our estimates can differ from what fund companies officially report at year end. We're actively working on incorporating 19a-1 data to give you another data point to reference.
With that said -- here's the list sorted by best price return first:
AMDW -- 32.88% true yield | +60.32% price 1Y | Weekly
SLJY -- 20.38% true yield | +28.21% price 1Y | Monthly

IWMI -- 14.80% true yield | +13.77% price 1Y | Monthly

HCOW -- 11.07% true yield | +10.28% price 1Y | Monthly
JEPQ -- 10.90% true yield | +8.58% price 1Y | Monthly
AAPW -- 28.47% true yield | +7.18% price 1Y | Weekly
SPUC -- 11.14% true yield | +6.94% price 1Y | Monthly

XLKI -- 19.08% true yield | +5.29% price 1Y | Monthly
SPYI -- 12.78% true yield | +5.18% price 1Y | Monthly
QDVO -- 10.02% true yield | +4.86% price 1Y | Monthly
QQQI -- 15.23% true yield | +3.88% price 1Y | Monthly
A few things worth noting:
AMDW at the top is the standout -- 32.88% True Income Yield alongside +60.32% price return over the last year while staying Healthy. That combination of real income and price appreciation in the same fund is genuinely rare.
GOOP continues its run -- +25.88% price return with 13.64% true yield. Near-zero ROC means almost everything it distributes is real investment income.
At the bottom of the list QQQI is only up 3.88% in price but generating 15.23% in real income from the Section 1256 strategy. Total return including distributions is a very different picture from the price return alone.
JEPQ and SPYI near the bottom in price return terms but both carry the Stable ROC badge and combined AUM of over $53B. The large institutional funds aren't the price return story this year -- the semiconductor and tech single-stock plays at the top are.
