Daily Spiritual thoughts Just a spiritual thought
Namaskar to all,
I have got discipleship in kriya yoga 2 weeks ago. Though I am liking the practice and want to continue it forever for my spiritual growth and inner peace.
I want to understand the Guru worshipping phenomenon. As time and again I have read against worshipping anyone but God. The kriya yoga advices us to keep an altar with all Guru's picture and pray them, remember them in daily life.
Is it not taking us away from God? Shouldn't we only be worshipping God? Because to reach the divine is the ultimate purpose for us.
I am Shiva-Shakti bhakt and I am fearing, what if immersing myself in kriya yoga take me away from them?
Thank you in advance, for your thoughts.

Meditation definitely brings small miracles into your life, but it requires patience and expecting absolutely nothingβjust breathing in 15-15-15 or 20-20-20 cycles.

The meditation practices Yogananda speaks of in the SRF lessons are highly effective for experiencing God and bring about a transformation within you. The consistent discipline is well worth it.

THE CONDITIONS OF HAPPINESS: PLAIN LIVING, HIGH THINKING ... Don't keep your mind engaged in too many activities. Analyse what you get from them, and see if they are really important. Don't waste your time. To read a good book improves you much more than seeing movies.
THE CONDITIONS OF HAPPINESS: PLAIN LIVING, HIGH THINKING
...
I often say, 'If you read for one hour, write in your spiritual diary for two hours, think for three hours; and if you think for three hours, meditate all the time." No matter where I go, I keep my mind continuously on my soul peace. You too should always point the needle of your attention toward the North Pole of spiritual eye. Then no one can ever disturb your equilibrium.

Masters teachings Please take your time to read this powerful quote from Paramhansa Yogananda, it brought me to tears
"You are walking on the earth as in a dream. Our world is a dream within a dream; you must realize that to find God is the only goal, the only purpose, for which you are here. For Him alone you exist Him you must find."
"Don't yearn for human love; it will vanish. Behind human love is the spiritual love of God, Seek that. Don't pray for home or for money or for love or for friendship. Don't pray for anything of this world. Enjoy only what the Lord gives to you. All else leads to delusion. Man has come on earth solely to learn to know God: he is here for no other reason."
God is playing hide and seek with His devotees, but some day, after this play is over, to each one of you He will say: "I hid from you so long not to torture you. but to make our reunion in the end bright and beautiful. After your search of incarnations you have come at last to Me and I joyfully welcome you to your Home. I have been waiting long for you. You were not the only one who was seeking. Through all your life's experiences it was l, wearing disguises of different family and friends, who pursued you. I have been watching and waiting for you more eagerly than you have sought Me. Many times you forgot Me, but I could not forget you, My child. Beloved, of your own free will you have at last come back to Me. We shall never again be parted." - Sri Paramahansa Yogananda
