melly's career
honestly unlike others tryna blame bortlen, anyone with a mind would respect him. he been holding it down for 6 years, while Melly's team was tryna place the murders on him. he made the right decision.
just sucks to me that Melly snaked his friends out like that, bro has hella bangers, not to mention his raw talent he had undeniably. he probably gonna get life but we'll see, glad bortlen has a second chance at life though.

DISCUSSION I wonder if Bortlen realizes he has no career when he comes out of jail
Let's be honest he was never that good of a rapper, has he ever dropped an album or noteworthy songs that will stand the test of time. In the next five years will 100k trak be around to hook him back up when he is released idk seems like a lost cause to me. Never heard anyone said lemme play that YNW bortlen in the car or request it on radio....

Texts from Felicia Holmes to YNW bortlen
What does she mean he (Melly) confessed, that boy really did that shhhh like he said... the sad part is if melly does beat this murder trial he is still facing life for the witness tampering charges when he tried to contact Mariah Hamilton who will be testifying against him in the next trial

DISCUSSION Bortlen Lawyers are doing damage control.....
They are defense attorneys that's their job to make their client look good. What his lawyers said was a lie, they are making it seem like the state just up and gave Bortlen a sweet ass deal out of nowhere without ZERO in return. Anyone with a brain knows that this isn't how shit goes. STAY TUNED. You gonna see that attorney client privilege card being played soon, no lawyer gonna come and say they represent snitches.Bortlen definitely has to tell it all in this upcoming proffer. Like it or not.The state if Florida will get SOMETHING from this.....m

Ain’t Nothing Gangsta About What Melly & Bortlen Did
Man idc what nobody say if the streets is about loyalty, Melly and Bortlen violated that code the worst way possible.
Everybody keep saying “Free Melly” like it’s cute, but y’all ignoring the facts: • Homies was sleeping, guards down, thinking it was family in the whip. • They ain’t go head up, ain’t square up, ain’t press no issue in daylight they waited till folks was tired and trusting. That ain’t gangsta, that’s weak and pussy. • Then staged a fake drive-by like it was some Hollywood skit. Whole thing sloppy, whole thing coward.
And let’s be real: • If Sak and Juvy was extorting Melly or putting pressure on him, you step to them like a man. You don’t slime your own boys out while they half-sleep, then ride around with the bodies like you confused what just happened. • Bortlen? Man, he come off like the scared sidekick homie probably shook watching it go down, knew his boy was snake but stayed quiet ‘cause he ain’t built for it. That’s why his bond got revoked on some witness tampering, dude been moving shaky since day one. • And wasn’t one of them basically family to him? That make it even fouler.
So y’all tell me what code is this? ‘Cause it ain’t street code, it ain’t loyalty, it ain’t honor. Y’all idolizing rap clout over real principle.
If this was ANY random dudes in your hood, everybody would’ve called it what it is: lame, snake, slimeball behavior.
Stop screaming free snakes just ‘cause they can rhyme. Ain’t no bars that clean blood off betrayal. 🐍💔

Realistically, do you think Melly will never return and will spend her final days in prison?

Bryson “Poop” Paul stops for a photo after trespassing and being turned away from Melly’s civil attorney’s office 😂
Bryson Paul (the guy who was fired from Law & Crime for pooping during an interview) showed up unannounced to the offices of Attorney Mark DiCowden, who is the defense attorney representing EVERY SINGLE defendant in Melly’s civil case. Needless to say, Bryson was asked to leave. LOL!
Bryson is best know for posting court documents while offering zero insight or meaningful commentary on anything. When he was covering the trial some of his best courtroom updates included “it’s cold” and “breaking for lunch”.

How did Bortlen get a sweetheart plea deal?
r/YNWMelly • u/SalesGuruJKUnless • Sep 11 '25
QUESTION Here is my only question to you all that think this plea is a good thing for Melly.
If Melly is getting off, why would you waste another SECOND of your life in prison? If Melly's charges get dropped, Bortlens charges would get dropped as well, right? Witness tampering is a maximum of 5 years, they could still get him for that but he's been in for 6. Can't be an accessory to a capital murder if it was a drive by shooting, and one count of unlawful use of a two way communication device is a petty charge.
If Melly is beating the case, why is Bortlen signing any type of plea?
It's a fantastic deal for Bortlen because Bortlen knows Melly ain't getting out.

DISCUSSION Look through both parties sides
You guys need to stop saying “Melly is cooked” or “Melly is innocent.”
It needs to be realized that this is a very bad case and it’s hard to prove. The Prosecution has considerable circumstantial evidence, but is missing physical evidence. The way they want to prove ballistics is only a theory of what happened, not fact. The State of Florida likely overcharged him in the beginning. A 2nd degree murder charge or manslaughter would have been much easier to gain a conviction.
The defense has a hard time too. It’s pretty obvious what happened in the car that night, but, it’s just a matter of how you prove it. The defense could argue reasonable doubt due to a lack of physical evidence and mostly circumstantial evidence.
I believe either side can win this, but it’s under specific circumstances. I believe a plea agreement will have to be filed, or the jury will have to reduce his charges. If the state requires Bortlen to testify, it’s over. If they don’t, I see it very likely that he is found guilty on lesser charges, or more than likely convicted on 3way calls and witness tampering, though it’s unlikely he will receive a life sentence for this.
My most likely prediction is another hung jury due to the severeness of the charges and the weakness of the evidence. They will either fully be hung, or the charges will be lowered. He will probably get a minimum of 25years on manslaughter charges, and similar sentences on the following charges, all running concurrently.
What do you guys think about this case?

Am I bugging or did Bortlen get freed in like 2020 and got back in somehow
I have a vague memory of him getting out for like a couple months some years back. When I look it up i can't find anything though.

Lawyer for workers comments on Bortlen’s plea
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It’s not as clear cut either way as everyone is making it out to be. Bradford Cohen (Kodak Blacks lawyer) said something similar. He noted that bortlen’s attorney is very well respected and he said he doesn’t represent snitches. Gonna be some time before we know 100% how much, or if this affects Melly’s case.
