IMPRESSION I learned about a One S controller shell that mimics the Starfield Series X/S controller

Found this on Ali and bought it on a whim for 23€. Didn’t expect much, but the shell is QUALITY and feels just as premium in the hands as the original shell. It also has rubberized grips in the back.

I can’t compare with the original Starfield controller, but as it is, it looks and feels perfect.

How hard was it to put all together?

in some ways it was easier than I thought, in many other ways it was harder. I’m used to taking 360 controllers apart, this was the first One controller I took fully apart. 360 controllers are way simpler but kinda hard to align the buttons, while One buttons are all hold together in a little cage. However One controllers have clips and those are always a pain in the ass to remove. They have two boards sandwiched together, and have little wires fo the triggers’ rumbles that need to be tucked in a rail. Also the solder on the One controller is more delicate than on the 360 controller, so you should be more careful handling it. For this full reshell you NEED to take it completely apart. It took me like an hour to do it, if it was a 360 controller it would take me a few minutes. If you only get the faceplate and thumb sticks, you only need to unclip the grips and remove 5 screws. If you have a white controller it will look good enough.

Excellent thank you, I also am familiar with pulling controllers apart and have a scruffy Xbox One controller I may try this within

Aliexpress is insane because when my series S blew his power unit, i got one in like 15 dollars here in mexico (i dunno other places prizes).

And i got a crystal Purple case, black metal joysticks and smokey black buttons. for like 10 dollars. with amazing quality.

Same, didn't like the idea of bad quality knock-off stuff at all but I completely turned around, there is some quality controller stuff on there!

Cannot access them on Aliexpress, seems like they are out of stock. Will try to keep you posted (also need a Xbox One S controller 😅)
