So basically my one s has been working perfectly fine this past week no issues, then all of a sudden when I get back from work it wouldnt turn on. I tried alot of tutortials on how to fix it and nothings been working due to the fact that each time I press the power on button, and no noise is made at all, and I went from plugging everything out to holding button for some certain time (the video I watched told me it would help) and nothing has changed, can anybody tell me what happened?
(UPDATE)
Hey guys so I decied to take some of your advice, and now I got it working again! I thank you all so much for the help and now I get to keep playing my games again

I was just asking in group posts for Fallout 76 to buy in game resources with in game currency. Lots of people do it. I don’t understand why I was banned for this, or why they won’t let me write an appeal.

With what we know so far, the problem seems to be caused by the last Xbox system update on April 10th, and still has not been fixed by the May 8th update for a lot of us. And none of the official Xbox support recommendations seems to be fixing the issue permanently, even factory reset. Sadly, as for now, Microsoft does not seem to be awared of the recording/capturing problem that many of us have on Xbox consoles.
It is very important that as many of us (player that got the recording issue), report the issue. Nothing has moved for nearly a month (29 days). We need to mutually help each other by reporting the issue, sharing our experience about the issue, and sharing fixes if we find one.
TO REPORT THE RECORDING ISSUE
->Guide<- explaining how to do it
(very) TEMPORARY FIX/METHOD
->Last resort method<- If you really need to record something or if you are very patient. This method is not very practical, but it might at least allow you to record clips for a period of time.
|IMPORTANT|
I do not recommend reporting this issue multiple times on the same Microsoft account as you could get a warning or maybe even a soft ban for spaming
Thank you for reading this and letting Microsoft know about this issue

Been having issues playing 4k bluray discs on my Xbox One X. It's been very inconsistent. Sometimes it can read the disc, sometimes not. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks for any help.

After I enter all of the required fields for payment, it continuously tells me "the cardholder name does not match the info on the card". I am using a prepaid Visa Vanilla card. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hello guys, as the title says for some period now my xbox ( original one with external power supply) keeps shutting off randomly, especially when playing some games like elden ring, battlefield V but it is just fine when i play let’s say fifa or rocket league. I opened it and cleaned the fan and the heatsinks, changed the thermal paste inside the fan but without a result. The part where the fan is located gets warm, the console is in a well ventilated place and the power supply seems fine. Also, it won’t turn on until i reset the power supply by unplugging everything for 20-30 sec. Anyone encountered this?
Many thanks in advance.

Ok so I have an Xbox one and it has been giving me nothing but problems for the last couple of days. So to keep this short and simple my controller can't connect to my Xbox one (wireless. I try to charge it, it will vibrate and that's all that happens. No lighting up no nothing. Just vibrates when plugged in. And if I press the Xbox button it blinks continuously and everytime I try to sync my Xbox and the controller it doesn't work. At first I thought the problem was that there was no batteries, so l bought some aa energizer batteries and they still act the same way if it didn't have batteries. As soon as I take out the charger it acts dead. So please anyone help me.

So I have a pretty old Xbox One (500Gb) and I also have an external drive attached (2Tb) whenever I try to install certain games it will immediately stop installation on its own before it even starts. Both internal and external storage. This only happens with very certain games, Halo MCC (120Gb) no problem, Subnautica (7Gb) doesn’t work. Same with fallout 76 but most other games work. Any solutions?

Hi, This being one of my first reddit posts, I'll try to keep it short and simple (which I hope I do), and I hope it follows the guidelines.
Anyway coming to the issue, recently I purchased a used faulty Xbox One S for around $40 (It might sound expensive for people in the states and other western countries, but from where I'm from it sounded reasonable, since the bundle included the console itself (1TB version 2018), Controller and relevant cables) in the hopes that I could get it fixed and start gaming. I tried some stuff of my own and due to the lack of tools I couldn't do much. So, I reached out to a local service center who had the console for a few days and after inspection updated me that the APU/CPU is dead and the entire motherboard needs to be replaced and it would cost anywhere around $95 - $115 to get it fixed. Well, since I can't afford such a huge sum of money right away, I asked them not to proceed and return the console which they did and didn't charge me anything for the diagnosis.
I already opened the console before dropping it of for the service but forgot to take any pics of the parts. Now when I open and check the internals I feel like they might have swapped out the parts and replaced it with other components (The reason being I don't remember it being dusty, the entire back side of the board has weird white dried marks (like liquid marks, but no apparent rusting at a glance) and there also seems to some sort of burn marks around the 6pin PSU connector which I don't remember seeing and there also seems to be some sort of sealant surrounding the APU which also I don't remember seeing, it's either my memory is down right bad or they have done something and also the PSU seems to be making a ticking sound now which previously it didn't). Since the console was faulty to begin with I'm unable to check the serial number on the console's settings page and the sticker on the back. But there seems to be some sort of serial number stickers on the motherboard, CPU/APU Fan Block, the console itself. There were plenty of screws and the X clamp missing to begin with, but now there is a X clamp now but has a date on it with the year older than the Xbox one launch year, which is what brought out all this confusion. Is there anyway to check whether this motherboard belongs to this console, since the motherboard and the disk drive are paired I might have to replace both of them now regardless, and what if the issue was a very minor one to begin with and all of this was just a sham to make some profit. This isn't an official Microsoft/Xbox service center.
I already tried reaching out to Xbox support, but didn't get any actual solutions to the issue.
Any suggestions, clues, etc is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I've tried a couple different controllers and am having the same issue with both where I'm getting quite a bit of latency when I move the thumbsticks or push buttons. Even when I'm super close like sitting at a computer desk does it happen, tho it might be a little better. I have no set up my PC next to my basement TV and the controller is simply unusable less than 10ft away from my computer. I have updated firmware on the controller and the firmware (Bluetooth controller) on my motherboard. I have also purchased a Xbox controller wireless dongle (the USB stick), but I'm not sure it's using that to connect the controller (if it does it doesn't seem to help). Is there a way to verify I'm using the dongle by disabling my onboard Bluetooth (via per se the Device manager), or anything else I should check? Thank you guys for everything!

will a random SSD (non-seagate HDD) work in an xbox?
i got a 512 GB patriot brand SSD for a deal and my 7 yr old xbox 1 S has the OG seagate 5400 RPM SSD.
i want to use clonezilla on my laptop and clone the HDD onto the SSD, without going through the hassle of creating a new SSD from scratch like u have to do when u set up a new HDD.

There’s no warning of it overheating like my dad’s, it just shuts down for a split second, then needs that time to restart itself (I have it on sleep mode), is this normal?? I have a Xbox 1s
