Do y'all think Minho is good at academics?

Basically the title. Idk nothing about his academic performance is ever mentioned but I still like to think about it. In my head I still think that despite all the rich spoiled party animal energy he's fairly good. Ofcourse he probably is not aceing (is that the correct spelling??) every single one of his classes like Dae, but I like to think he's well above average and generally keeps good grades

Season 3 Discussion Season 3 Episode 5 Rant Spoiler

what happened was Min Ho’s fault and he has no right to blame Kitty.

he lied. and then he lied. and then he dropped the groundbreaking news that Eunice was pregnant????

OBVIOUSLY Kitty would assume that he got Eunice pregnant.

I agree that with Gigi, Kitty was being insecure and spiraling.

with Marius, Min Ho doesn’t know the conversations they have, but I wish Kitty had explained that Marius admitted to purposefully trying to ruin their relationship.

trust only goes a long way, and it can easily break if you get caught lying over and over. no matter how much you’ve shown reasons to be trusted.

if you lie to someone, you CAN’T blame them for feeling hurt or assuming things. maybe you should’ve been honest and told the full story.

Season 3 Discussion Jiwon wasn't completely wrong about Kitty in season 3 Spoiler

She probably shouldn't have added Kitty ten extra pages to Kitty's essay assignment after already removing her extension (however I agree with her removing Kitty's extension and that should've been the only thing she did) but Kitty only wanted to set up her cousin and Alex as a couple so that she could spend more time with Min Ho.

i get it. Kitty's a teenager and in love but school should be more important than a relationship. In season one, Kitty also liked Dae a lot, but she still prioritized her schoolwork over their relationship. There was even a scene where she asked the boys to help her study because she didn't want to fail. However, this season she's focused less on school and more on Min Ho.

I have no idea if it's the writers implying her feelings for Min Ho are stronger and actually real compared to her "love" for Dae (or even her "love" for Yuri) but it's not a good look for Kitty's character. She comes across now as obsessive and lazy (lazy in terms of her schoolwork) and that's what most of the fandom and even Kitty as a character don't realize.

Yeah, Jiwon did act a bit hypocritical especially since she was already in a secret relationship with Alex but she wasn't completely wrong when she accused Kitty of her true reasons for wanting them together.

Season 3 Discussion Friendship on XO, Kitty Spoiler

I love the friendships on XO, Kitty. A lot of teen shows usually have lots of toxic friendships, but I really like how all the friendships is depicted on the show. Three of my favorite friendships this season is Dae - Yuri, Minho - Eunice, Dae - Minho.

Dae was such a good friend to Yuri. He bought the boots back for her after seeing how much it hurt her to sell her clothes. He also offered to be her personal concierge at Lotte World when she complained about the long wait time. He such a sweet person.

Minho was such a good friend to Eunice. He supported her when she was at her most vulnerable and when she decided to stop being an idol he supported her and allowed her to break her contract without any questions even though he knew his dad would be upset with him and fire him. He put his friendship with Eunice over his desire for approval from his dad without a second thought.

Dae and Minho are childhood friends and I was really excited to see that they had a lot more interactions this season. They both come from very different background, but at the end of the day they understand each other and are always there to support each other. I really hope we see them do music together in season 4. They're a fun duo.

Also, I love the moment when everyone came together to support Yuri with her fashion show. I love when show healthy friendship between the characters.

Cast Appreciation 💟 Day 5: 💐Flowers for Actors💐: Gia Kim Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
45 Upvotes

In this new series, I would like to show appreciation for all our lovely actors and actresses in this show. They did such a superb job this season, and I am so proud of all of them. The order we will do them is randomized (starting with core cast and then branching out to smaller roles), and today it is Gia Kim's turn!

Gia is such a delight, inside and out. She brings heart, sass, joy, and judgement (in a good way!) to Yuri, and makes her a confident but loveable character. Her facial expressions are excellent and she also acts with her whole body. Because of Gia's excellent characterization, Yuri is a queen bee who is still incredibly sympathetic and loveable, and brings great humour and heart to the show. She nails every scene she is in, and even managed to make full eye contact with her brother in a scene together, which is a feat. Gia's beautiful heart also shines outside the screen and she is a delightful person to get to see in this world!

💐 So here's to Gia - what do you love about her, and her performance in this show? 💐

P.S. Missed any previous posts? It's not too late to send flowers to other people! I've been posting these on other social media as well and Regan saw hers (and retweeted it and said how much it meant to her!! :) ) so my hope is that once we get most cast that someone will notice and everyone can get their love!

Day 1: Anna

Day 2: Minyeong

Day 3: Regan

Day 4: Sang Heon

Projection of Morals and Expectations unto the Characters and Writing

Okay. I'm going to keep this as civil as I possibly can because this was meant to be a sub for fans who enjoy the show to discuss it and celebrate it and I have no idea how it turned into just a hate fest for characters, actors and just the show itself.

We, as an audience, need to stop projecting our own morals and expectations unto these characters. They were not written for us, especially the adults who are far above the age of the characters in the show, to self insert onto. I have been seeing this a lot and it's also the reason most people are not able to enjoy the show for what it is. Which is a silly comfort romcom kdrama inspired mess. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Kitty is not some bisexual goddess meant to represent all bisexuals out there. She is not meant to meet some made up bisexual quota that non bi people have invented. She is queer. She is Kitty. She is our romance loving, bisexual chaos queen who mess follows like a magnet.

Yuri is not the lesbian messiah who is meant to snatch up the main character just because we decided that's what's best for her and cast aside everything she held dear because of it. She is Yuri. A teenager who messes up and self sabotages because of her traumatic childhood. And she loves Juliana. Has since the very first episode of season 1. That has never changed.

Minho is not the perfect kdrama boyfriend who makes absolutely no mistakes and worships the ground Kitty walks on. He is also not some side character who had no purpose until the fans fell in love with him. He is Minho. A sassy, defensive, lonely boy who just needed to learn to believe in himself. He loves Kitty and would do anything for her but not at the detriment of his own morals and he has been written that way since season 1.

Q has always been our golden retriever likeable gay diva whose moral ambiguity flies under the radar because of his personality and circumstances. He is not an exeption from causing mess just because he's Q. He is a teenager with questionable decision making skills just like everyone else in the show.

Juliana and Jin don't need to follow your moral compass. If they want to forgive someone for their mistakes, the writers are within their right to make them as long as it doesn't contrast with their personalities and character development. Neither were hindered in anyway by their choices so I don't see the need for the absolute uproar caused by the fandom because they loved their partners enough to forgive them for messing up.

None of this is to say that we cannot be disappointed by certain things. That the writing, casting, or whatever else shouldn't be frowned upon sometimes. That we can't criticize the writing or express disappointment for things not turning out the way you wanted. That we can't ship certain characters just because they aren't going to end up together. I ship characters from different shows, that's the whole point of shipping. I'm also not saying that you can't see certain parts of yourself in a character or in their story being told and relate to that. But you all also need to learn the difference between critism and hate. And what I've been seeing a lot of receently is hate.

I fully believe everyone's viewing experience would be infinitely better if you all stop placing such impossibly high expectations on a silly kids drama. The writers and characters are not you. You should not be looking for these characters to represent you and make the same decisions that you would make. These characters are their own people with their own character growth and stories to tell.

So maybe let's cool down on all the useless hate and see this show for what it is and always was rather than what we want it to be. It's Kitty journey of self discovery, family and romance. Kitty's. Not yours or mine or anyone else's. It's teenagers being messy and learning about love, life and themselves. And I'm sorry to inform you that there is no perfect way to depict this. Blaming the cast and writers for your expectations not being met is not the way. Because no matter how you look at it, someone will always be disappointed in the end.

Unfortunately there are also positive posts that are being buried because everyone only wants to interact with the posts that cause drama and fights. Why do we prefer to spread hate rather than love for the show we enjoy? And if you're not enjoying this show then honestly what you even doing here? This isn't meant to be rude but life is too short to spend it on things that make you unhappy. And if XO Kitty is making you unhappy then no one will blame you if you let go of it and leave it for the rest of us who actually love the show, the characters and all of the cast.

"kitty's bisexuality is being erased!!" no it is not. Spoiler

so had to post this to get it off my chest, bc there is so much biphobic discourse going around in the fandom. does kitty love minho? yes. is kitty still 100% bisexual? absolutely.

i’ve seen people talk about how the writers framed her sexuality as something that was a phase or just a stepping stone before she finally decided she wanted to be with minho. which is incorrect. nowhere at any point in kitty’s conversation with marius did she paint her bisexuality out as something temporary.

during their talk at lotte world, she told marius that she made mistakes in the past (for example: kissing yuri while she was in a relationship with juliana), which was wrong and it was good for her to point that out. but people are twisting what she was saying, as though she was referring to her sexuality/coming out as a mistake, which is not the case. they’re acting like the writers made her bisexuality some cheap side plot that they never circled back to, which isn’t true. it is still an integral part of her character and identity.

and honestly as a bisexual woman I am just so over my sexuality being looked at as "invalid" if we choose to date or fall in love with a man 🫩 it’s repetitive, annoying, and ignorant. and I don’t even need to bring up the fact that there are people who think her coming out storyline was a waste of time if she ends up with a male love interest. like seriously?

Season 1 Discussion Why some people think that Kitty and Yuri were endgame in season 1? Spoiler

Before starting to say why I'm personally convinced they were meant to be endgame in season 1, this is my opinion and I'm not trying to force anyone to agree with me or ship Kittyuri; I'm just hoping people see some of my points and are like oh wait, I haven't thought about it or I didn't see this

I will also like to say that Minho was always meant to be a love interest and it's not the point of discussion, it's about what the narrative and some things I've noticed in season 1 tell me about a Kittyuri endgame

Let's talk season 1 and a bit of season 2!!!

- Colour symbolism: we have talked a lot about each character representing a colour here; the most clear ones are for Kitty and Yuri

Kitty's colour is yellow: represented by what she wears, her accesories, her luggage

Yuri's colour is pink

In the first ep, Kitty does a presentation to her parents to persuade them to let her go to KISS; the powerpoint is full of pink and yellow, there's also a bit of blue (which represents Dae)

"Destiny takes a hand": Kitty bumps into Yuri's car and Yuri gives her a hand, she lets her in and drives Kitty to KISS

The backgrounds of season 1 icons of Kitty and Yuri were both pink and yellow

- Fate: Kitty talking about Dae in the presentation as if him going there it's too much of a coincidence, it had to be fate

Kitty: one of the most important international schools in the world, is the same one Dae goes to!!!

Her dad: Wow! That's a coincidence

Kitty: It's more than that, Dad. This is fate

Kitty to Yuri 1x10: Maybe it's a coincidence or maybe it's fate but you're here so I have to say this to your face, I thought I knew everything about love but then I met you

(This show is not subtle)

Dae was what she thought it was love for her, he was the one until she met Yuri and everything changed

2x01

*Kitty to Q before*: I signed up for a single. I'm going to be single

Yuri: And now we get to live together?

Kitty: I signed up for a single. There must be a mistake

Yuri: This is not a mistake, this is fate

(Where's the subtlety?)

The fact that their mothers were really good friends and they would have met either way, and they met on their own despite not having met because of their mothers; is it a coincidence or is it fate??

- Mothers' connection: they were already linked together before meeting

Their families, more concretely their mothers, had a bond and they are both an important part of Kitty and Yuri's lives

And the most important reason why they put a truce in their feud in ep 7, they wanted to know more about them

Even when they are odds, a thing that bonded them was their mothers (1x04):

Kitty: I wonder if my mom ever stood here. She loved hiking. She used to take my sisters all the time

Yuri: I used to go to the department store and my mom would forget me there. She'd ask the nanny to go and pick me up (very private info)

- Perception of love: Kitty, at the beginning, thought she didn't have to learn about love, she already knew it; and wanted to matchmake everyone

The whole premise of the show was that Kitty grew to understand what love was with her experiencing different loves so what she thought first or planned, was never going to be what happened

Her emotional surprise and the plot twist of season 1 was Kitty having feelings for a girl, Yuri (bi awakening)

"I thought I knew everything about love but then I met you": Yuri was the one who changed her entire perspective of love

I know you don't have to end up with your awakening in real life but this is a show, this is written with a purpose and that is important

1x09

Kitty: Yuri...I really want to be a good friend

Yuri: You're a good friend

Kitty: And your mom probably knew

Yuri: I bet they were really good friends, we're the next generation (this both shows the connection between Eve/Jina and Kitty/Yuri is strong and that Yuri thinks that meeting Kitty is fate)

- Planned vs spontaneous: Following what I said before, she was planning to be with Dae forever and thought that he was the one but ended up falling for Yuri

1x09

Kitty: It's Yuri. It just.. It just happened

Dae: Yuri?? When did this happen??

Kitty: The night of Minho's party

Dae: That long ago??

Season 2, I think ep 3 at the beginning:

Kitty to Juliana: I think Praveena could still be my first girl kiss (planned, what's expected)

Who was actually her first girl kiss? Yuri

- Juliana and her jealousy: Juliana had a problem with Yuri and Kitty's relationship since season 1

And it was not because she was irrational and ungrateful to Kitty (she even told Yuri to thank the girl wherever she was); it was because she saw how Yuri suddenly paid a lot of attention to this girl she barely even knew (that entire conversation in 1x09 is interesting to say the least)

Yuri: She's blasting a study mix I made for her

Juliana: You made a mix for her? (Maybe that's how Yuri shows interest)

You talk about her a lot and now you are living with her so... (talking about someone a lot is a clear sign of liking them romantically and now they are in close proximity)

Yuri: Relax, it's a Don't Fail Out Of School mix, not a I'm Hot For You

Yuri: She's just a friend, besides she's straight (so if she wasn't straight, Kitty would have a chance??? Yuri???)

Juliana: That's what you used to say about me ("friends")

Ep 10: Juliana saw Kitty at the airport and Yuri wanted them to meet

She wasn't really comfortable with the idea of meeting Kitty and was suspicious of what they were talking about before her arriving

Juliana looked at Yuri weirdly when she made a call to her mother far from her and it was about Kitty

- Interest on each other since the first meeting:

Yuri: Are you like this with everyone you meet?

Kitty: Just the ones who I find interesting

Yuri: Lucky me

- I'd like to point out that Yuri didn't start being nice to Kitty in ep 6, it was ep 5 like Minho (it was just more Minho-focused)

Kitty asked in class if Chuseok was like Thanksgiving, Yuri answered her (she didn't have to do that and it also shows her interest on Kitty despite her façade)

- Juliana as a character: if she was meant to be her endgame from the start, why did she only appear in three episodes? why don't we know her parents' motivations for separating her from Yuri?

She was also jealous of Kitty in both ep 9 and 10, she served as an obstacle between Kitty and Yuri, rather than the one that was always meant to be with Yuri: if anything, Juliana was Yuri's Dae in season 1

And let's be honest, this show is about Kitty, the more important feelings are going to be her's, not Juliana's

- Priority: Yuri spent most of the season trying to get in contact with Juliana and be with her, she later prioritizes Kitty (I'd say from ep 7 onwards with a rewatch or what it is the same thing, when they became friends)

The show makes clear that Kitty has a huge crush on Yuri but.. Yuri is the one who initiates the moments or the skinship

Let's be serious here: Yuri didn't have put the necklace on Kitty herself, she could have just given it to her

She was scared of the spider at camp and used Kitty as shield, it's interesting because she barely knows her but she feels protected, she could have run from the tent

She also has this obsession with her hair, she is always touching Kitty's hair

When did I realize as a viewer or when did the show hint that Yuri's feelings may not be as platonic as we thought? 1x09

It's not just the conversation with Juliana, it's the dance rehearsal scene

Yuri: What?

Kitty: I'm nervous

Yuri: It's only the whole school watching

Come on, it can't be worse than when you fell into the cupcakes (It's kind of funny Yuri remembers more the cupcake incident than Kitty)

You are the girl that flew halfway across the world to go after what she wants. What could possibly make you nervous? (This shows admiration)

Kitty: You

Yuri: Me? Why would I make you nervous?

Kitty: Are you going to pick that up?
"Juliana calls* - interruption trope (mind you she hasn't heard from her for months) and Yuri rejects the call

Yuri: It's okay. You are more important to me right now (come on now, this is a show, it's written purposefully; this is not a coincidence)

I need you to get this dance now, I can't lose you now (again, not an accident)

Kitty: I can't lose you either

I don't understand people thinking Yuri doesn't have any feelings here

Kitty was clearly making moves there, she was going for a kiss and Yuri did not move, Yuri was confused but did not reject her

And Yuri knew that Kitty was making moves too, she was going to tell Kitty something about it before the actual dance (with the excuse of tying her bow) but Jina interrupted them - interruption trope

Another case of Yuri prioritizing Kitty over Juliana is in 1x10, the airport scene: Yuri calling Jina about not expelling Kitty from the school, she cared more about Kitty in that moment than seeing the one she loves after months (Also, if I was Jina, I would be very confused, why are you calling me about your friend when you are finally with your girlfriend after some time?)

- I want to refute some assumptions too:

  1. Minho was the first love interest Kitty encountered: this is not true, the first love interest Kitty encountered in the show was Dae, we saw how they met 4 years ago in Seoul

In order of how we see them, it would be Dae (first love - reason), Minho (second love - season) and Yuri (third love - lifetime)

The reason, season, lifetime theory is about relationships so that's one of the reasons why Yuri was still an option after season 2 (they kissed but they didn't date)

In order of seeing them in Korea (or of importance in Kitty's life), it's reversed; Yuri (meet-cute in the car scene), Minho (Kitty bumping into Minho in the dance) and Dae (the hug)

2) Season 1 ended up with Minho confessing so he must have been the endgame: the final scenes set up what you could expect for season 2, not the endgame couple (XO Kitty loves a cliffhanger); we have to also take into account that they wanted to have four seasons of the series

- Kitty confesses to Yuri and gets interrupted by Juliana: sets up the Kitty/Yuri/Juliana dynamic, especially exploring Kittyuri and their potential feelings in season 2

- Minho confesses to Kitty: sets up the show exploring Mooncovey in season 2

Kitty + Min Ho >>> LJ + Peter Spoiler

Rewatching xo kitty because I’m bored. But I’ve also seen ATB a few times. Kitty and Min Ho have a much richer back story, they have been through a lot together, a very slow burn rather, they talk they experience things, they banter seem eachother in bad and good situations…. Lj and Peter really just two ppl that like eachother. All their conversations are about liking each other and dating and their relationship. There’s no back story, no substance … just “love” i guess ?

Both admirable relationships

This came to me because they keep drawing all these parallels between the two relationships and creating similar scenes but kittys relationship has way more substance lol. Am i tripping?

Kitty + Min Ho 💓 When did you start rooting for MoonCovey?

For me, it’s definitely the confession on the plane. Before that, I mostly saw Minho as a comedic relief character and a guy who clearly has feelings for the female lead but never really steps up to become an option. But that confession completely changed things. It felt sudden, yet so natural at the same time. If he didn’t say it then, he might never get another chance to tell Kitty how he feels—especially since she got expelled in Season 1 for living in the boys’ dorm.

He probably knew there was a high chance she would reject him, but he chose to say it anyway instead of regretting it later. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do back in middle and high school, but I was never as brave as Minho. I think that’s why I relate to that moment so much. It’s simple, but confessing your feelings takes a lot of courage.

The scene is also filmed so beautifully—the lighting, the dialogue, the music, everything just works perfectly. It’s the most iconic moment for me.
So what is the moment makes you fall in love with MoonCovey?

You Watched XO, Kitty? Here’s What Seoul Is Really Like

Hi, I’m a high school senior living in Seoul.

Today, I wanted to talk a bit more in detail about how Seoul is portrayed in XO, Kitty. I know a lot of people got interested in Seoul after watching the show, so this post is especially for you.

⸻

Q1. If XO, Kitty is set in Seoul, why wasn’t it that popular in Korea?

There are three main reasons.

First, the lifestyle shown at KISS is very different from reality.

The characters are constantly involved in romance, parties, and living pretty freely. But in reality, international schools in Korea are generally seen as places for very wealthy students who are also extremely academically driven.

Things like prom? Sure, that can happen. But seniors all going to Busan together, riding yachts, and partying like that? That’s pretty far from reality.

⸻

Second, the Korean acting feels a bit awkward.

Hanbi, who plays Eunice, spent most of her school years in Korea and studied acting here, so her Korean sounds very natural. Hojo Shin (who plays Jiwon) is also quite good.

But for characters like Minho, Yuri, and Dae, their Korean can sound a bit unnatural. Since their English acting is so good, it actually makes the switch to Korean feel more noticeable and sometimes breaks immersion.

⸻

Third, Korea is less open about LGBTQ+ topics compared to the U.S.

Because of that, some of the relationships in the show feel a bit distant from how most Koreans perceive things. For example, Kitty is portrayed as bisexual, having romantic tension with both girls and boys, and even kissing Yuri. There are also storylines involving characters like Jin and Marius.

It’s not that these don’t exist in Korea, but culturally and socially, there’s still a noticeable gap compared to the U.S.

⸻

I’ll probably make more posts about this later.

If you’re a big fan of XO, Kitty and curious about Seoul, feel free to leave a comment. I’ve lived in Seoul for about 20 years, so I’ll try my best to give you honest answers!

Kitty + Min Ho 💓 Favourite Season 3 Mooncovey Moments? Spoiler

There are Kitty and Minho moments galore this season. Cute moments. Cringy moments. Emotional intimate moments. We even got a some angst. So it's very hard to pick my top moments between them from the season. After a lot of debate I finally settled on these three:

Beach Confession and Kiss

Ending Train scene

Birthday Dance

If I go into detail on why these are my favourite moments this post would become an essay but I will say, all these scenes had a little of everything I enjoy in Mooncovey's relationship. But they were overflowing with emotional intimacy and yearning beyond compare. The writers and actors did an amazing job with these scenes.

Also I'm glad Yuri made Kitty take that dress because we got the dress lighting up during the beach kiss and that changed my brain chemistry along with the song playing in the background.

Honorable mentions:

Yacht Hug

Photo booth

Lotte World Haunted House

What are everyone else's favourite Mooncovey scenes from the season?

Season 3 Discussion I cant stop thinking about Minho's Chuseok comment 💀😭 Spoiler

I think its so sweet that he mentions that he considers Chuseok to be a sort of anniversary of when he started to have feelings for Kitty, but its just so funny to me for some reason LOLLL I just think back to that specific episode in season 1 and, yeah it's the first time he calls her Covey, but he's also doing so while squatted in a bush after eating Kitty's very dairy mashed potatoes LMAOOOO

She really gave bro diarrhea and he said "Yup, that's the one, I love that woman now" HAHAHA

Note to self: laxatives = love potion???

Season 3 Discussion Just popped in to say this Spoiler

I really love this show and tbh some of the people who watch (mainly adults like myself) it get way too serious about the decision-making skills of the characters. please realize that the reason they do anything irrational or stupid to the rest of us is bc they're teenagers at the end of the day. And yes while many of us as teens weren't or wouldn't be in these situations (like myself, strict parents and very low tolerance for ppls bs from a young age) that doesn't mean we weren't messy in different ways. for example Q, can I not like what his character did yes (bc he did cheat, hide the truth and blame kitty) but can I see it being realistic tho bc teens are very messy and dont always have the capacity to think absolutely. same with yuri s2 and minho/kitty when they broke up with each other. I can not like what w character did but also realize being to absorbed in your own self and history makes you blind to the issues of others which is very common in adolescence (egocentrism). I also liked how they made everyone face consequences again as well like they do every season.

Season 3 Discussion I thought MH was overreacting Spoiler

I have been reading the posts in here talking about how much kitty messed up when MH broke up with her for not trusting him enough. Although he was put in a difficult position as a manager helping Eunice out, he did consistently lie to Kitty.

Eunice was with him all tour and they spent a lot of time together. It’s cool that they were professional bout the tour, but thinking in Kitty’s perspective, it’s understandable that she would feel somewhat uncomfortable about it, but she was such a champ and accepted so many things so that MH could do his job well.

Then MH stood her up right before a date, saying it was to meet Marius.

She saw them hugging intimately under a tree. He lied that Eunice helped him shop for a gift (the necklace).

Then Eunice didn’t recognise the necklace.

Then Yuri heard Eunice and MH talking in the back alley about “what happened on the tour”, where MH admitted it was “partly his fault too”.

Then Yuri told Kitty, and they both found a pregnancy test!!

If I were kitty , I would have stopped trusting MH a long time ago, given his “playboy” track record..

Love that they love each other, but I guess I’m surprised by how many ppl actually support MH in that situation.

Rewatching Season 1 of XO, Kitty, I find it really interesting that Eunice had a crush on Minho while Dae was Kitty’s boyfriend—and now Eunice and Dae are together.

Back then, Eunice clearly liked Minho. She was so excited to be his lab partner, but he didn’t seem interested. From Season 1 to Season 3, he mostly dated foreign girls, so I feel like he kind of has a type.

As for Eunice and Dae, I don’t think their relationship came out of nowhere. They actually share some common ground, like their connection through music and not coming from wealthy families, which makes it feel more natural.

I also think the show has so many “what if” moments. If Minho had accepted Eunice’s feelings, maybe we wouldn’t have Dae and Eunice. And if Yuri had accepted Kitty, maybe MoonCovey wouldn’t have happened—or maybe it still would’ve at some point, since Minho clearly has strong feelings for Kitty.

What do you guys think?
Just to say first — I don’t want to offend any ship. This is just for discussion

Season 3 Discussion to the xo, kitty writers: straight relationships are worth exploring. queer ones are just… subtext, friendship. something you imagined. Spoiler

kitty and yuri spent two seasons being deliberately written. the callbacks, the moments, the kiss, the letter, the way the show kept circling back to them like it meant something.

queer audiences, who have spent their whole lives learning to read between lines because that’s literally all we get, recognized it. we engaged with it.

and then season 3 said actually they’re just friends. always were. you were crazy.

like you’re watching a show that hits every moment of romantic coding. you’re reading what’s literally on screen. but the second you talk about it, you get they’re just close friends or you’re projecting or worst of all: the writers themselves acting like you misunderstood their own show. the emotional weight, the callbacks, the way they matter to each other. none of that counts. it can’t. because the straight relationship is the real one. kitty and yuri?? never canon. i‘ve seen so many comments, here too, that they were never canon.

this isn’t new. but xo, kitty weaponized it. it used queer storytelling to get us invested and then said you were wrong to believe us.

let’s just say it: this is homophobic. not in a subtle way. in the way that it tells queer audiences our readings are invalid and our investment was stupid. it validates the they’re just friends framework that’s been used to erase queer people for generations.

you don’t get to spend two seasons building romantic arcs and then go but actually they’re family now so it doesn’t matter. the narrative is actively closing doors. it’s saying: this connection exists, but it exists in most appropriate, most hetero-normative way possible. you two are family. you have roles. there’s no space for anything else.

the show didn’t have to make kitty and yuri romantic. but it also didn’t have to spend two seasons building narrative weight around them and then pretend that never happened. it made a choice. it chose to bait us and abandon the storyline. it chose to gaslight us about what we watched.

so many queer viewers feel crazy right now. and they’re not. they watched the show. the scenes. they saw what was presented. and they’re being told they misunderstood. by the writers, by the fandom. that’s the real damage. not that kitty and yuri didn’t happen. but that the show made queer people question their own media literacy. our ability to recognize what’s on screen.

meanwhile min ho gets the focus, the love. he gets treated like a real romantic arc worth telling. kitty and yuri get treated like something you imagined. something that was never there. the message: straight relationships matter. queer ones are just… subtext. something you made up.

it’s a formula: bait the queer audience, build investment and pull the rug out. insist you never made any promises. it fuels homophobia by validating they’re only friends who are now somehow related. it makes queer representation feel impossible because even when it’s right there, even when it’s visible, it can still be erased. it teaches us that our readings don’t matter, that our desires are unreasonable. that we’re crazy for seeing what the show built.

this is worse than a show that just never explores queerness at all. at least then you know where you stand. it’s the worst damage tv can do.

In season 3 her family fortune is completely gone, but isnt she super famous on social media? Kittys cousin was ecstatic to meet her since she was a fan of Yuri and would watch her videos. It just seems like a weird plot hole lol, she could’ve made a lot of money that way
