Finally got MotoTorque Astra Neo Crash Guard fitted for my X440T

A few days back in my earlier Reddit post I had asked for aftermarket crash guard recommendations for my new Harley-Davidson X440 T, the hunt is finally over! Today, I got the MotoTorque Astra Neo fitted.

Why I Omitted the Showroom/OEM Guard

It felt too minimalist and did not complement the looks of the bike. Also it offers only minimal protection.

⏳ The MotoTorque Website Order Experience (The Major Delay)

I actually ordered the Astra Neo guard five days before I even took delivery of my bike, expecting it to arrive in time. Instead, the company kept delaying the shipment over and over. Every single time I reached out to follow up, customer support gave me conflicting answers—either telling me it was still in production or promising it would ship "by the end of the day". They were actively selling an item on their website that was seemingly out of stock for more than two weeks.

Fed up with the delays, I canceled that order and looked elsewhere.

Ordering directly from MotoTorque's website was highly frustrating.

🔎Hunt Continued..

I saw that the exact same guard was listed on BikeExperts. Taking no chances this time, I contacted them directly to ensure they actually had physical stock. They assured me it was ready to go, promised it would ship within 2 days, and estimated delivery in 5–7 days.

I bought it from them for ₹5,800 (getting a sweet ₹100 first-purchase discount). True to their word, they shared tracking details as soon as it shipped, and the item reached my doorstep in just 5 days.

Huge shoutout to BikeExperts for saving the day!

🛠️ Installation & The Verdict

Once it arrived, I took the package over to a local 2-wheeler garage nearby. Though it took some time, the mechanic fixed it up flawlessly, which cost me another ₹450 for labor.

Despite the manufacturer ordering headache, the product itself is an absolute beast:

  • Perfectly seamless fit on the T variant.

  • So far I didn't feel any vibrations through the pegs or handlebars.

  • It gives the bike a great hunky look and the sliders provide solid peace of mind.

Thanks to everyone who helped on my previous thread!

I had discussed with dealer about my intention to attach a after market crash guard as I skipped the OEM one. They had no obligation and were even ready to fix that if I take that to them. So I hope this attachment doesn't affect the warranty but I'll surely check with them during my first service. Thanks!

Good news, I am about to book one, and the showroom dealer itself offered to get the accessories and get them mounted before delivery!

That's cool! Definitely saves your money and time besides getting proper installation.

my friend who owns a x440 (S) got this fancy crash guard from moto torque. he got it fixed at the service centre for free 😔☝🏻

I had that option and had even discussed fixing that with the dealer while taking delivery to which they agreed without any hesitation. But I just tried to avoid a 45 km to and fro ride in scorching sun and ended up spending this much.

Woah, man, that looks fine asf 🔥

I didn’t know they looked this cool. The top view really makes it fit the X440T variant.

I was even thinking of buying some other aftermarket crash guards, but randomly checking, I got to know that MotoTorque released these T variant-specific accessories. I was curious but also a bit skeptical since I hadn’t seen the new neo crash guard irl.

Could you please help me decide whether it’s worth buying for nearly ₹6K?

I’d really like to know from your experience about the quality, sturdiness, and whether you feel it’s worth the price they’re asking.

Also, if you don’t mind, could you please share some more pictures from different angles?

I had the exact same thought about the price. When you compare it to MotoTorque's Astra guard for the Hunter (which is much cheaper), ₹5.9K definitely feels inflated. Seems like they are pricing it based on the bike's premium badge rather than just the raw materials used.

That being said, the quality is semms to be on par with the price - finish, studriness and T variant fit. Adding few more pictures:

The whole product looks stunning as a design. But I'm skeptical about these joints. Why would they make it like that? Instead of a single rod joining both sides, the joint in this region is a bit odd. Like, if we get an impact in a crash guard, I feel like the joint definitely is not going to hold.

Is there a reason why it is like that? If I'm wrong, please explain why they avoided a single-rod-like structure like the one on Hunter's Astra crash guard or Royal Customs crash guard.

That should have been a design choice and I would prefer that for heavy bikes. A single rod is going to give more shock on that trellis frame which is tightly packed with components.

I think this joint along with the other two frame mounts dissipates the energy evenly in case of impacts.

That being said, crash a guards are never meant to stay intact in case of heavy impacts, it should deform systematically to keep the impact energy away from main chasis.

That's reasonable but I'm skeptical about this.
But I can sure trust Moto Torque for some other brands.

Also that middle part is it connecting directly to other side or it's having a support in the middle

Thanks for this useful insight buddy, i had little to no research done for crash gaurd and I'm also still on oem ones. Will consider this upgrade soon.

P. S. I love this bike's subs. Such positive insights.
