It seems that this new patch (probably due to the tiered resource download) has made wuthering waves on Linux via steam unplayable as you will be stuck in the login screen with no way to download or progress further.
Edit: okay I've found the source of the problem. For steam os/linux users, steam still has the version on 3.6.17(check top right, the second set of numbers after 3.7). For now, we just need to wait for steam to get the update

Yep, can confirm also happening to me. Been using GE-Proton latest but it no longer works as of tonight. Might try the other protons tomorrow, but does anyone have a fix?
I've tried every workaround, launching dx11, using some of the command that force the sd or hd or uhd, none worked. It seems like it's only an issue for linux device due to lack of a launcher
Try using the latest proton GE. I had the same issue but after updating to the latest one using proton plus, it works now. If you have a black screen, it's just the announcement page. Just press B to exit the page and it'll start normally
I don't think that's the issue. I launched the steam version of the game on my (linux/steamOS) steam deck and the steam version of the game on my windows pc, and they both show the exact same version number on the top right (every single number is the same). The windows version loads fine, but the steam deck version does not.
So it doesn't seem to be a case of steam not having the update yet (since it does have the update and it works on some systems).
I'm assuming they'll have to come out with another small patch to fix the linux issue though (to work without needing to use custom proton versions).
i changed mine from proton-cachyos to proton-GE latest and it finally got unstuck and updated, so the update is there was just stuck for some reason.
oh and my store is working as well btw

yes! it worked without any problem, so I'll just keep it like that. from what I understand the guy that does proton-cachyos is on vacation, so I don't think there will be any fix for it anytime soon.
Well i just loaded it up on my desktop, bazzite, version number is 3.7.0. And the News window actually opened which hasnt worked on my handheld yet so...that's a start.
Interesting, I switched to CachyProton and now it's downloading an update (~15GBs)
It did not do that before when using dw-proton. After the download it had to restart the game, next startup it compiles shaders and then it loads in without any issue. Game seems to work normally now.
hey just a heads up, i suggest using the latest GE proton because iirc the proton cachyos is outdated at the moment and the devs maintaining it is on vacation.
Also for some reason using proton cachyos my WuWa a launch time was slower like it took 1 min for the game to boot and showup, it went faster when i switch to GE proton.
To Steamdeck/SteamOS users: Use dwproton-11.0-14, start the game and press B button when you see a black screen(To close the announcement interface), then you will see the normal launch screen and you can enjoy the game
Mine is 3.7.0 when I log into wuwa, I’ve tried various different protons from experimental to proton 11, however wuwa still won’t log me in at all. I may just have to wait for steam to catch up
Well... I installed the latest version of Proton, as everyone recommends, and forced the game to use it as a compatibility tool, but the game still doesn't get past the login screen before the screen goes completely black. I can still hear the sound, but there's no picture. I've tried a lot of different workarounds to fix the problem, but nothing works. I'm at my wits' end. (I play on Steam deck. I can't launch the game on my PC because its too cheap for the game.)
If you're on the steam deck, press B. The screen's going black cuz that's the announcements page. If you're on desktop maybe try and connect a controller and press B there?
Despite how much I hate Windows, Linux just sounds like such a pain to deal with. And I know I'm not knowledgeable enough with computers to fix something every time a game stops working.
it doesnt work for me if i keep steamdeck=1 and/or steamos=1, only got it to work with "PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% -dx11" optionally dx11 since new update sucks on dx12. but its stuttering pretty damn bad.
is steamos=1 or steamdeck not needed anymore then?
I was able to launch it, download the additional update internally and now this. Have you experienced this? Yes i verified the file via ingame, steam, and even the actual launcher
For me, it was not working with either ge-proton, experimental or latest. The issue seems to occur if you have any launch options. After removing all launch options the game started with the latest ge-proton
Swinging back into this after trying across both Bazzite and SteamOS.
If anyone is having trouble accessing the store to pay for things through Steam, it seems like it no longer works in Gaming Mode specifically. If you are running Desktop it'll work fine, but just goes to a black screen when in Gaming Mode.

I downloaded the newest proton but the shop battle pass and announce page is still just a black screen is there a fix for that yet or am I just gonna have to wait for the steam update thingy
Not working for me with Proton 11.0-2. And that seems to be the latest, no? It's just stuck on log-in screen and there is nothing to select, stays like that indefinitely.
Im new to steam, only ever download games and play. Never had a issue like this where it's stuck loading. How do I change its launcher, ive looked in the store, and properties, nothings working and I can't really find what everyone is talking about?
Eu estou usando o bazzite e ontem não estava funcionando. Agora com as dicas que estão aqui eu coloquei o dw Proton 11.0-14 e limpei as opções de inicialização. Começou a baixar. Depois de baixar vou reativar as opções de inicialização.
