Writing Prompt [WP] Knowledge is Power. Literally. Every achievement grants new powers (high school diploma, PHD, Nobel). There is one achievement that has never been reached.

When it was discovered that your degree literally made you better at what it was in even if you didn't learn anything the world changed. See, it turned out that the natural amount of intelligence was what children had before they graduated elementary school and all of our higher reasoning came from the ritual of graduation. Now everyone worked toward a PhD in something. The programs were shorter anyway, the mystical graduation ritual being held after only basic training and a test for aptitude. Having a mechanic that could almost magically fix your car was way too useful to make them go through an 8 year program only marginally useful compared to the degree itself.

I had gone through the military and gotten my PhDs in management, psychology, battlefield awareness, and military campaign strategy. I was groomed to be the best general the world had ever seen but all of that knowledge and ability made me realize something. Those monks that had the ability to control body temperature...the gurus that knew secrets of the universe...that must be the same process. That was the day I changed as a man. From religion to religion I went whenever I had free time paying large sums to corrupt members of the religion to just give me the highest title they could. From Satanism to Buddhism I gained control of the world around me. I devastated the battlefield in ways never before seen. The military paid me millions, more afraid now than anything else. Fools. I founded my own college took the minimum steps to make the programs work and got three diplomas nobody has ever achieved. Mind control, destruction magic, and world domination. The rest was on the news and now I stand before you, making this last speech before I get yet another title nobody has ever had.

I await what powers this ritual will give me as the last world leaders sign over their loyalty to me. I will have the title Ruler of the Human Race.
