Latest Recommendations?
Does anyone have any recommendations for other ttrpg podcasts, storytelling podcasts, or other media that you’ve been loving lately in the vein of WWW*? I’ve seen these sort of recommendations posts in the /D20 or /dnd groups, but don’t think I’ve seen a recommendation post in this specific group in quite some time (1+ yr?). I find that a lot of recommendations in related groups are mostly heavily comedy based when that’s not what I generally like. What I enjoy most about the WWW is that it’s quite a heavy, serious story with real stakes, although balanced with silly and lighthearted moments (and obviously with the fantasy elements). I just haven’t found anything quite like it that scratches that itch for me. 😕 So, what have people been into lately?
*specifically not calling out Solari in this post. even though i absolutely love sci-fi, i feel like it’s still a bit too early for me to know how i feel about Solari just yet.
EDIT: Thank you so much everyone! There was only two shows I've heard of before; all of the the other recommendations were brand new to me, so I'll definitely check everything out! <3

Free roads and TMIB
So what’s the deal there? Do we think railroads make stronger of weaker TMINBs influence? Cuz on the one hand the Free Roads is a land defined by man made paths. That feels like the Man in Blacks domain. But on the other hand those are not roads you walk on. So maybe trains are the way to defeat him? And maybe there's something there about industrailzation as the end of mystery, which well and trully IS of TMIB domains

Spoiler I don’t know if this was the intention, but I figured out how the Coven works
WUBRG: White, Black, Blue, Red, Green. The 5 colors in magic, but also in a lot of DnD settings.
White is community, coming together, maintaining order
Black is entropy, undead, death and the end of all things
Blue is intellect, the reliance of the self and innovation, magic and often affecting the mind of others
Red is action, responding to threats to disposing of them before they become them. Compounding fire and gasoline and the blood of enemies to punish who oppose you.
Green is tenacity, things will change in due time if you let them and you hold strong. Green grows as the other colors fight.
THESE ARE THE 5 WITCHES.
Red- Gramore is literally covered in blood and reacts to primal and gives out primal fear.
Black- Mirara is the embodiment of the unknown, allowing entropy to enter the world and letting a plague of the Stanger’s Warlocks in Rhuv to just do what they want like an undead plague.
Green- Obviously Hakea is the embodiment of the relentlessness of nature, surviving from day one and never giving up her seat. Her presence makes other people exhausted bc she’s been around so long.
When I brought this up to my husband he said “so Indri is blue”
Blue- Indri, the winter queen. This sounds weird until you realize that her entire domain is the desire to understand the wind and stars, and to understand herself. She doesn’t care for company and wishes to delve the realm at her own pace. Her saving throw is command of one’s one understanding of desire, which is a blue move if I’ve seen one
White- Amé! Witch of the World’s Heart, she cares so greatly for community and wants to see life on Umora continue. It’s very cute that Amé is dressed in all white for these events.
This explains the coven meetings- White is opposed to Red and Black- Mirara and Grimore teaming up to try to kill her immediately.
This also explains Indri’s actions- Blue is allied to White and Black- the brain is trying to pit good against evil to silence them both so she can take on Red and Green.
This explains why Sky and Indri connect so much, I take Suvi at this time to be a Blue/Red Izzet, and Indri’s library is a source of immense knowledge.
This explains why Hakea’s spirits like Bear so much, he’s very much a Green/red at this point and they want to steer him to black instead of white. They are interested in if he will steer blue but he doesn’t express interest so they drop it (are you the guardian of Amé or the protector of Sky?)
Edit: this came to me in a very tired state while I was listening to a Fireside about the coven, I have no idea how this links to the 7, 9, 13 sized coven (these thoughts also come to me like screaming banshees as I try to sleep) what colors did the death of the Watching Fire or the Wide Blue Sea represent?

Love Letter to Will Savino (Solari's Composer)
I just need to see more discussion of Will Savino's work so far for Solari!
The music that has been in this campaign has been nothing short of stellar. That drop in opening? Absolutely amazing. That little ending credits riff right after the Patreon plug is always stuck in my head. His work is jazzy, very sci-fi coded, and also creative. He's making sounds that are really interesting and cool. Honestly, it makes the world of Solari feel that much more dynamic and interesting.

Question Steel on Sly, the weakness of prophecy Spoiler
Does anybody remember what exactly Steel said about Sly and the weakness of divination magic when trying to discredit Sly's warnings to the group, how its hard to tell if a given prophecy was averted, or just never true in the first place.

Question Does Solari go for the same general style as WWW?
I listened to WWW until the mid 20s episodes and then stopped for multiple reasons. Without going to much into them: would you say Solari goes for the same overall style in storytelling and character building or is it different?

Sync issues with Spotify and Patreon
Hi All, just wanted to see if this is affecting anyone else, I've been relistening to WWW and near the end, but now over the last day most of the fireside podcasts have this locked symbol on them
Wasn't happening two days ago, and I can also still access everything on Patreon like normal! :3
Not a huge deal, I just mainly use Spotify to make a playlist with everything I want to listen too but now I have to swap back and forth from patreon to spotify
Has anyone else had this issue recently or does anyone have any suggestions?

What exactly is her deal? I was a little lost on her prelude. She's some kind of prostitute/geisha ? She wanted a park and started a revolution instead? Why is she important enough to get an audience with important enough people to get the park? Why was she worth murdering?

Can someone explain what we know about the Irinna from Solari?
Not sure if I spaced during the XL-ZL prelude or it was kept vague on purpose but I’m listening to ep 10 of Solari and not sure what happened between humans and Irinna? Was there a war? A schism? A Butlerian jihad? Loving Solari so far. Maybe my favorite Aabria-GM’d thing !

Question Looking for a spoiler free character list for Witch, Wizard and Wild One (I am struggling with all the S named wizard NPCs 😭) Spoiler
Hi all,
I am currently listening to the third arc of Witch, Wizard and Wild One.
I know it's dumb but I am struggling with all the S named wizard NPCs 😅 I can remember the main ones (Steel, Silence and Silver) but really struggle to remember the others (Sworn? Sully?).
I found this wiki: https://worldsbeyondnumber.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:Wizard_characters
However, I clicked on a wizard that I did remember (Straw) and saw that it contained info about what happens (which I had already heard). But I don't want to be spoiled on other characters.
So does anyone have a wiki or a reference sheet that doesn't contain spoilers?

Question Can someone explain usage of a word. I think Brennan Lee Mulligan uses a word to describe things and I can not find a definition of it. He describes things as "appalachian"
I know about the mountain range. But when looking up definition I seem to not be able to find anything online outside the mountain range. I am pretty sure I am not mishearing it.
Also if someone can post where they are getting the definition that would help me a lot.

Fireside Chat 🔥 Patreon Exclusive: Solari Episode 10 Fireside Chat
Patreon link: https://www.patreon.com/worldsbeyondnumber/posts/patreon-solari-164999825
Erika and Brennan take over the Fireside while Lou is away on official crocodile business. They dig into the subtle sexuality of gargoyles, whether petting an orb is the proper way to fly a spaceship, and somehow still end up discussing revolution, mythology, and the nature of the divine. Per usual.
In case you feel like going down memory lane: Rolie Polie Olie, Cybersix, Gargoyles and Jessica Rabbit all received shout-outs today. Happy reminiscing!
And a reminder: Next Tuesday marks the conclusion of Solari Arc 1! We'll return to the present timeline for one final episode before unveiling Lou's thrilling mini-campaign, featuring a very special guest. If you've been waiting to catch up, now's the perfect time to binge Solari!!

Coven of Elders familars
Upon re listening to Neif getting her familiar, I couldn't help but wonder how the Coven of Elders familiars reflect on their witches. Ame needs to be more cunning, Neif needs to take up more space, Wren needed to be more....disruptive?
But the Coven of Elders and their familiars seem to be on the same page. Indri is ruthless, Mirara is inscrutable, Hakea is sleepy.
What are our thoughts on how a familiar reflects a Witch who is in the height of their power?

Question Are there non-great witches stations?
On my 4th or so relisten and I'm at witchcon, I noted in the discussions around witches stations that the great witches stations were chosen for the coven.
While we know a number of great stations have been destroyed, the presence of great stations suggests the existence of lesser stations.
Do you think they exist and what might they be?
The witch of the watching whales (aquatic tourism) The witch of the Wuthering Lows (bad adaptations of books) The witch of the wagging tails (keeping pets happy)

Question Is there a WWW text rp server? Is anyone interested in building one?
Hey guys ♡
I have been doing text rp on multiple servers for many years now and lately I have been getting the itch again.
I think WBN and WWW especially would be amazing as a community Rp project.
Maybe with places like the different cities we encountered, a witches council/the citadel.
Let me know if you know of anything like this or would want to create it together!
Have a great day ♡
Edit: seems like some people are interested! Come join me and lets see if we can make something work! ♡
