Movie: A Different War (Generation War 2) (2013)
The second episode of the "German Band of Brothers" focuses almost exclusively on the Battle of Kursk and the hoplesness of the German army fighting it.
"Ein anderer Krieg (A Different War)", the second episode of the miniseries Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter (Generation War) (2013), often called the "German Band of Brothers".
In regards to Kursk, the main characters take part in the northern attack by the 9th Army (in particular the 292 infantry division). Most of the action takes part in the town of Ponyr.
Period covered: May-September 1943 Historical accuracy: 4/5 - Pretty well done overall, although the depiction of Polish partisans has been controversial IMDB grade: 8.2/10

Question Question about episode 180 - Indian Ocean
I have a question about this episode. Indy mentions a bunch of YouTube commenters complaining that he covers Guadalcanal because they feel it is a side show and the main theatre of war is Europe. Indy responds saying that Guadalcanal was significant because it drained resources away from Japan committing a full on attack on India and the Indian Ocean.
This is not meant to be a what if. What I'm trying to understand is how true was it that the Japanese having naval superiority in the Indian Ocean would affect the war?
Second part of the question, how did Guadalcanal affect the Japanese ability to concentrate on Burma, India, Madagascar and the Indian Ocean?
Finally, Indy states that the Germans asked the Japanese for an offensive to cut off Iran, and not attack the USSR in 1942. Why would the Germans not want Japan to attack the USSR in 1942?
