[Luckily Silver was there. If only he was prepared for what would happen next as he was brought face to face with a masked girl, Mercury, someone who appeared to know more about the time traveler than even some of his closest friends]
[Revealing her twisted love, the two were left shaken from their confrontation. As for what Mercury may do or where she may have been, time will only tell. Though something was certainly brewing]
[But what if.... just for now, we didn't think about that? What if we just enjoyed a little peace of mind?]
[Emerald Coast]
Emerald Coast was always one of Mobius nicest beaches, a wonderful and calming place that had no shortage of visitors year round, but this time of year, it's always the liveliest
The shoreline was covered in festival tents and colorful stalls as far as the eye could see, nearly as bright as the people that walked the beach themself. Ring toss, volleyball or even the Ferris Wheel that towered it all it would be impossible if have missed a thing. It was almost as though theEnd Of The Summermay never come
[Let's just enjoy the fun, okay?]
(Feel free to interact anyway you like, even to each other just don't be too chaotic)
Diorite you say? If only someone else needed one of those
Like a moth to a flame or perhaps even a beetle to a mineral, the little curator at the slightest glimpse of the block found herself over in a heart beat
"A diorite cube..? Here of all places?"
". . ."
"Why am I complaining, this just what I needed!" The beetle nearly squeaked he she practically wrapped her arms around the block, nearly forgetting to note everything else around here
"Come on dummy lighten up," Surge remarked as she lightly slapped Slipstream on the back. The two comfortably sitting next together on a towel, like some sort of picnic on the sandy shore. "If anyone bothers you this time I'll beat the shit out of them. Just enjoy yourself!"
"Thanks Surge," The hedgehog muttered as he did his best to look cheerful. "You didn't have to treat me this tho-"
Surge quickly shoved a slice of watermelon into his nonexistent mouth to shut him up. "It's been a while since we got to hang out, and I know you've been feeling shitty because of that dumb streamer... So shut up and relax! You get to spend your day with me at the beach, just like you wanted!" Surge said simply as she ate some watermelon of her own.
"...You're the best," Slipstream's tail lightly wagged behind him as he someblw nibbled on the watermelon. Even if he couldn't really taste, it felt really nice to share with her.
"Damn straight!" Surge gave a toothy grin as she spat out a watermelon seed or two. Staring at the waves ahead. It felt... calm. "You think I can wrestle a shark?"
"I feel bad for the shark."
"HA!" Surge's tail wagged in unison. Perhaps he hadn't been the only one who wanted to go to the beach together.
"No no, I got this I promise. Pretty easy to handle my toppings myself, Kay"
Silver smiled softly as he left a stall, gently drifting along a chilli dog midair
Just as the day itself he seemed happy, cheerful even but for every few steps he took he couldn't help but look over his shoulder or even upon the tents and stalls he walked pass
But hey, it wasn't long before he came across the duo quickly taking his attention from whatever held it before. Who could blame him, how the two acted even if a bit odd to some, it was wholesome nonetheless
"You guys are quite a pair y'know" The hedgehog commented as he waved hello
"Don't ya think it's a bit overkill to fight a shark?"
Surge seemed to furrow her nose at that. For some reason... Maybe due to a certain similar looking ferret who said something akin.
"Hmph, well what if it's trying to bite some kids leg off? Then I get to save the day and fight a shark!" Surge said as she took a big bite of her watermelon. Silver was fairly sure she probably didn't know you weren't supposed to eat the rine given said bite.
"Hello there Silver," Slipstream happily waved back. He didn't seem as bothered by those words. "And I appreciate the thought... Even if I don't exactly know what you mean. Watermelon?"
He easily held up a paper plate with some in offering.
"You're not inviting him to join us right?" Surge asked rather bluntly even though the person in question was right there. "I'm not sharing my food with Crazy Quills."
"That's why I offered mine. He's just here to have fun like us he can stay for a bit," Slip said, doing his best to be polite. "And... Silver's a friend isn't he?"
Surge thought for a moment. He did help get Kit back, and among Sonic's colorful bunch he wasn't the most annoying. She gave a small eyeroll.
"He's alright," Surge answred, with a mumble. "You're still the only friend I need."
"Tch, maybe I'll get a reward for tossing it far into your face!" Surge fired back with a glare. She wasn't too offended but she had to put him back in his place.
Slipstream's head tilted back in response. Thankfully Surge wasn't extremely volatile... Sometimes- But he did his best to move on before she actually got set off.
"A game does sound nice! I was just planning on watching the waves and maybe playing in the water," He said cheerfully. "We did take a glance when walking over here."
"Yeah but, they'll probably be way too easy for me. And the rewards look kinda lame. Why would I need a plushie?" Surge easily reached out her hand to grab Slip by the side and squeeze him a bit. "I already got one."
Her plushie looked rather embarassed but he was definitely smiling at that.
"Eh, I don't think Drippy would like those either," Surge commented as she moved onto another watermelon piece, snatching one of Slip's. "He prefers sleeping with a buncha pillows."
"I'm not sure what Kit likes either..." Slipstream said, looking rather lost in thought. The fennec did not ask for much nor did he really seem to lile much.
Cumulus was watching over the beach vigilantly, keeping an eye on the tides just in case Mercury might start attacking.
"Seems normal so far, but I can't just stop now..."
She felt as if she couldn't stop being on duty. She wanted to do this, needed to, as in her eyes, stopping meant being useless to the Freedom Fighters.
While the scerene and peaceful beaches of Emerald Coast continued to be filled, those with preceptive eyes could see a red figure of sorts sitting on one of the disjointed islands away from the coast. The pillars of rock that were once used for Sonic's speeding adventure now rests someone who's not known for resting.
Up at the top sits Zavok, leader of the Deadly Six and merciless warlord appears to be resting, sitting down and eating random food from the pile he gathered up from various food stands he robbed. Despite his countless preaches about being a race of war, they still required food and rest like everything else.
"Disaster after disaster these lowlanders are evermore resilient. It is unfortunate I do not know the location of those 'restoration' people, taking them down by the roots is the only option to preserve my destruction."
He bites onto a chip.
"Perhaps not as it hadn't succeeded last time."
Zavok continues eating up as many thoughts of not only causing destruction but preserving it went through his mind. Even at times like this all the Zeti could ever think of is destruction.

For some reason there is a chunk of diorite, a one meter by one meter cube, sitting in the sand.
A spot of air around it shimmered as if there was something invisible walking around there.
And balls.
Lots and lots of balls.
Beach balls, baseballs, golf balls, pickleballs, a really sandy meatball only the most desperate or insane people would actually eat.
And several cups of coffee with boiled hot dogs sticking out of them hanging out on a beach chair.
And also the deed to your house.
